such affection conveyed in the drawings!,
By Jeffrey Jonas (Elizabeth, New Jersey United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Is It Time? (Paperback)
I'm not a dog/canine person but Marilyn's wolf father and cub are draw with such affection, they convey joy and kindness what's not hinted at all in the writing! The illustrations tell their own story, placing this book high on the bedtime-read bed-shelf. The text has just enough repetition to combine the best of a sing-along song without being insulting to the reader. A pure delight!

Nice bedtime book,
This review is from: Is It Time? (Hardcover)
This is a nice bedtime book about a wolfcub going through his bedtime routine. It includes taking a bath, brushing teeth (fangs), brushing hair, dressing for bed, tucking in teddy bear, kiss goodnight, turning off the light.
It's a question and answer type storytelling--for example, "Is it time to run the tub? Yes, it's time to run the tub. Is it time to rub-a-dub-dub? Yes, it's time to rub-a-dub-dub." It gives gentle encouragement for a reluctant child...you could perhaps go through each step in the process while you read the book, and do each thing that the wolfcub does.

This review is from: Is It Time? (Paperback)
This sweet little book helps little ones see the comfort and ritual of bathtime/bedtime. The simple little drawings express the delight of the bath and the nurturing of the parent. Great for babies or new readers to try on their own.

Is It Time,
By Beth Ann Malloy (Hopkinton, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Is It Time? (Paperback)
The rhyming text has an easy sing song quality. After reading it a few times, the kids can look at the pictures and read it to me. It makes going to bed a pleasant experience.
