Book Description

June 7, 2001
This is the first speed-reading course ever accredited by the University of Paris. All general content developed in the Paris lectures and exercises are included herein. This system has been taught successfully to students and professionals in America, Europe, and has had great success in Japan. It represents a systematic attrition of bad reading habits through exercising good reading habits.

About the Author

Ross Lee Graham attended St. John's College, Annapolis, MD, and Santa Fe, NM and graduated from the Santa Fe campus in 1973. The curriculum there has one of the heaviest reading schedules in American colleges and universities. The reading list relates to the Great Books of the Western World. The four-year program includes four years of science and laboratory, four years of mathematics, two years ancient Greek, two years current French, two seminars a week on readings, and an invited lecturer every Friday evening, etc. It was this intense atmosphere of learning that inspired the development of the Time-Module Intensive Reading Program. He went to Santiniketan, West Bengal, where he studied 10th Century Tibetan and Buddhist logic with Lama Ji and Lama Chimpa. He obtained a Licence from the University of Besançon, France, and finished a PhD in Systems Theory with The Union Institute (Ohio, USA).He taught this Time-Module Intensive Reading Program at the University of Paris XIII for eight years in a Master's Degree course for documentalists. One of his Paris students took the course to Japan and made it the most popular speed-reading course in Japan.Email: drross@banet.net

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING COMPREHENSION EXERCISES, June 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Time-Module Intensive Reading Program (Paperback)
With permission, using a generic IQ test and the Raven matrices test, I tested a group of juniors and seniors in a distinguished college prep school. I then assigned the Trobriand Exercise and the Streaming Exercise (designed to improve comprehension quality and speed) found in this Time-Module reading program. Students maintained these exercises for one academic year. At the end of the year they were again given tests. Average improvement on the IQ was 15 points. The Raven tests showed more than 10% improvement. These results suggest that these Time-Module exercises have a significnt effect on those who practice them.
The book is compact because it only focuses on the improvement techniques, not on testing the results. Other resources are needed for testing, which are readily found in other titles specific to testing...
