TIME IS MONEY SO RELEASE THIS ALREADY,

This review is from: Time Is Money (Audio CD)
That stinks for all you styles p fans out there awaiting this album for so long. Luckily my friend sent me it, who got the album from his friend. The albums great and the beats are sick. For those of you wondering what the tracks are these are some. And you can get the tracks easily they are all over the web and even on bearshare. They include:
-I'm Black featuring Floetry -So Serious featuring Lil Jon' -Leaving The Game -One Cup, Two Cup -Can You Believe It featuring Akon -Time Is Money And why your waiting for the album is all because of 50 Cent who payed for the album to be pushed back, and it's working Preview Tracks and Videos from it at www.stylesp.net

I'm a fan of Styles first album A Gangster and a Gentleman, so when i first heard about this album, i was excited but then it was getting pushed back by interscope after 50 cent(G-UNOT) coerced them to do so cause he was beefin with The Lox. Anyways, from what I've heard of the CD, i think its about on the same level as the first. and to the kid that did the review, stop listening to chicken noodle soup and listen to REAL music, this is something hip hop needed. So, to those who value real music and not retarded things like chicken noodle soup, chain hang low etc. buy this album. You won't be disappointed.

Well, it took him a veryyyy long time for his CD "Time is Money" to drop but when it finally did, it definitely bumped. With great producers on his tracks such as Scott Storch, the alchemist, Lil jon, Havoc and Swizz beatz, styles is able to captivate his listeners topped off with his raspy high pitched flow.
You may have heard the single "I'm Black" featuring Floetry, which was on the airwaves over a year ago! But it is still hot, to this day. Personal favorites of mine on this second solo project from D block member Styles P include: "Can you believe it" feat Akon (which has an awesome beat from Lil Jon), "testify" feat talib kweli and perhaps my favorite track, "who want a problem" feat the Lox and Swizz beats. Overall, styles p brings the heat back to the game. I bet Jada drops one more solo and than they all come back together as the Lox to put together a DOPE display of lyricism, yet again!

Real Music,
This review is from: Time Is Money (Audio CD)
If you don't like D-Block...why buy or even waste your time listening to their music. As far as 50 killing their careers HA ....I highly recommend this album and thanks Styles for releasing a "real" album and not just another club joint.

Styles P - Time Is Money,
This review is from: Time Is Money (Audio CD)
Styles P (A.K.A. David Styles)delivers his sophomore solo album with "Time is Money" (2006) a short twelve track release. The first review I wrote on Amazon was for Styles blazing hot first album "Gangster & A Gentleman", Four years and 500+ Reviews later I find myself reviewing this album. Year after year, Styles has had this upcoming album put on the shelf, and in the time he has dropped a lot of memorable, outstanding Mixtape and guest appearance material. If even half of that was found on this joint this release would be off the hook. Guest appearances come from D-Block Brethren Jadakiss, Sheek, and J-Hood, as well as Talib Kweli, Gerald Levert, Swizz Beatz, Rashad, Jagged Edge, Marsha (of Floetry), Sizzla and Flipsyde. One of the downers of this release is the production, which is on the whole under par and in some cases out of date. Stand out track's for me are the Scott Scorch produced "Real ****" feat. singer Gerald Levert, which is a solid cut. Style's shines when repping his culture with pride on "I'm Black". Jadakiss appears on the Havoc produced "How We Live", lacing the track with a decent chorus. Styles has done a number of collaborations with Akon, and they are all better then the lackluster Lil Jon produced "Can You Believe It". "Who Want a Problem?" sounds like every other Swizz Beatz track, while Sizzla's collab with Styles on "Fire & Pain" had this reviewer falling asleep. Depth wise the closer "Leave A Message" is impressive, Styles talk's to his family, friends and many others backed by a chorus from his deceased brother. Despite the letdown's "Time Is Money" is still a release I recommend checking out.

Almost 4 ½ years since Styles graced us with his classic solo debut, "A Gangster & A Gentleman" the Ghost is back with his 2nd solo, after 1 year of push back dates and a few songs less than it was supposed to be. Not as good as his debut, but still a solid 4 star album. Shorter then it was originally supposed to be (16 songs), at only 12 songs, but you get 1 classic, 3 ok songs, and the other 8 are good or real good songs. Guests are on all but 2 songs, rapping on 3 and doing the chorus on 7 more so not as much of Styles is heard as I'd have liked. His lyrics are the same, mostly gangsta tales or hustling tales with a deeper more personal song or 2. Production is pretty good, Supa Mario & Vinny Idol do 2 songs, Neo does 2, Havoc, ALChemist, Hi-Tek, Huu Banga, Scott Storch, Rashad, Lil jon, Dame Grease all do 1 song. A nice album for RR/D-Block real gangsta rap fans to have.
#1 - 10 (CLASSIC - f/ jae Hood - tight beat) #2 - 8.5 (f/ Talib Kweli) #3 - 9 (relaxing beat by Havoc) #4 - 8.5 (f/ Gerald Levert - R.I.P.) #5 - 6.5 (f/ Sheek, Jadakiss & Swizz Beatz (who provides a below-par beat) #6 - 8 (f/ rashad) #7 - 7 (f/ Akon - Styles don't fit right on a Lil jon beat) #8 - 9 (f/ Jagged Edge - nice beat) #9 - 8.5 (f/ Floetry - nice beat) #10 - 7 (f/ the ridiculously annoying voice of Sizzla - much better song w/o him) #11 - 8 (f/ Flipsyde) #12 - 9 David Styles - b. 11/74 - B. This joint is a banger. The final version released is bound to be a classic. Styles raps from the heart and it's great to hear. Great production.

I have always liked Styles P even though I found his debut album A Gangsta And A Gentleman lukewarm. Where Styles failed in his first album he shines on here. Standout Tracks: G JOINT(Styles and J-Hood take shots at G-unit), TESTIFY(great matchup with Talib Kweli), REAL S***(RIP Gerald Levert), CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, IM BLACK(necessary street anthem), FIRE AND PAIN(killer collabo with Sizzla), BURN ONE DOWN, LEAVE A MESSAGE etc. Filler:I know Im not the only one who thinks that records like Favorite Drug(which sounds exactly like T.I's Why You Wanna)and Kick It Like That(featuring Jagged Edge) are beneath Styles P. Bottom Line: This is one of the best albums of 2006. Styles P's Time Is Money is better than A Gangsta And A Gentleman in every way. Sleek production, tight rhymes and dope matchups make this album a necessary purchase. Its sad that this album is going to be slept on for the same reason(coming out in late December? WTF?) that Nas's Hip Hop Is Dead is going to be slept on.

Worth both your time and money,

Oh my god this album is hot. I always saw Styles P as second best to Jadakiss but now... I'm confused. Definitely one of the strongest efforts to come out of any Lox member. On the mic Styles P is fire, spitting his trademark grime laced with political commentary. Already a proven master of flow, he's also an MC wiser than he lets on, so for the more lyrics-driven hip hop fan this album is a wonderful listen. For the most part the beats are standard New York but banging nonetheless. There's a nice collab between Styles and Sizzla, which is interesting. Not all the guest features are memorable (Jagged Edge was unnecessary, I don't care for Mario Winans) but Jadakiss is a sure-shot and Talib Kweli is UNREAL on one of the album's stand-out tracks 'Testify'. Both MCs drop heat on that song but jesus murphy Kweli takes the house down. Maybe two of the best verses to ever be laid down by the BK MC.
As a personal side note I freakin' love the opening track, 'G-Joint'. I have listened to that song on repeat numerous times since buying the album and it never gets tired. Hottest beat of the year.
