Needs updating!,

This review is from: Time Out Brussels: Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges (Time Out Guides) (Paperback)
I'm usually a big fan of Time Out guides: whenever they're available, that's what I go for first. However, this time I have to say I was rather disappointed. The guide was last updated in 2007, and a lot of things have changed since. For example, the Magritte Museum is no longer out of town, but in the city center now. And the museums no longer offer a combined Sunday ticket, but an all-week "combi-ticket". Also, several of the neighborhood the guide recommends as "colorful" are in fact gritty and unpleasant. As much as I like the color pictures and the colorful language, I think next time I go with good old Frommers...

Best book on Belgium,

I just spent 2 weeks in Belgium, and although I had a lot of guide books, including Lonely Planet and Rick Steves, this one by Time Out was the best by far. It has the most information and the best recommendations. It's a good idea to call ahead to some of the restaurants, either for reservations or just to make sure they're still open. This book also has good, clear maps, which is critical in Brussels.
