Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreS—A girl is up with the sun, ready to play. Her house seems too quiet, and she goes looking for her family, but they are all hiding. Flaps on most pages cover large numbers of pets and siblings. As she finds them, she leads them all to their parents' bedroom, where they climb onto the bed. The child proclaims herself captain of the family ship, and all the cats, dogs, and brothers climb onboard. The text is brief, but infectious rhymes flow from page to page. Graham excels at cele-brating all the smallest and messiest details of family life. The house is cluttered (including an overflowing laundry basket with bra hanging out), but full of spirit and love. Toddlers will appreciate the family and the game of hide-and-seek.—Susan E. Murray, Glendale Public Library, AZ

Format: Hardcover
Bob Graham's illustrations always show realistic families living messy lives filled with love. This clean-lined book for younger readers still has the Graham magic, plus the fun of multiple kids and creatures. Don't miss the companion book "My Dog, My Cat, My Mama and Me!"
