I picked this up out of curiosity at the Library at the same time I picked up Carl Sagan's "The Demon Haunted World." I would say this author needs to read that book. 5.0 out of 5 stars Is Time A River?, June 18, 2003
This review is from: The Time Rivers: An Ancient Map of Time Revealing the Secret Legacy and Destiny of Human Civilization (Paperback)
Is time a river or is a river time? In the book "The Time Rivers" author Goro Adachi explores a new phenomena that is truly groundbreaking.
It seems that the earth has clues embedded within its geography, specifically major rivers, that speak to us through the universal language of mathematics. Mr. Adachi has, so to speak, discovered a template that has decoded the numbers and in effect tells us where we've come from, are and where we are possibly headed. He makes all the interconnections from ancient Sumeria, ancient Egypt, Eastern mysticism, astrology, astronomy, Greco/Roman mythology, geography, the Bible, the planet Mars and even the Knights Templar!
The author's whole basis is on mathematical measurements that any reader can verify with their own map and/or atlas. Coincidence? Maybe, but after 250 pages of consistent "coincidences" even the
skeptical would be hard pressed to argue the odds. As well, the reader will start to notice an 'intelligence' in the geographical design of the rivers. Which leads to the question,"Who was capable of this?"
Mr. Adachi says only truth has the ability to successfully checkmate 'reality'. The truth of the Earth being an orbiting body of accurate timeline hieroglyphics may be enlightening to some, reality-shattering to others. Decide for yourself. The 'Time Rivers' are flowing but for how long? Are you ready for the red pill, Neo?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild AND Compelling, November 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Time Rivers: An Ancient Map of Time Revealing the Secret Legacy and Destiny of Human Civilization (Paperback)
I'd have to say that The Time Rivers introduces very unique ideas backed up by strong evidence. The wild theory presented in this work is remarkable for its convincing reasoning. By the end of the book, the reader is left with the big question - not about the validity of the claim, but about the nature of reality itself...

I was shocked to realize that, based on the multi-layered evidence put forward in this book, the Nile is likely an intelligently designed river.

It's so grand in scope that ancient Egyptian mysteries and such are reduced to being a portion of this "hidden design." (Fans of Bauval/Hancock's work, and also Hoagland/Cydonia, should really check this out.) It's crazy of course, and yet... very compelling. I almost feel this "Time Rivers" theory is something discovered slightly before its intended time of disclosure.

I certainly encourage all to read the book and see the "dark" revelations for yourself. It's an intellectual roller-coaster ride.

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY interesting book., October 9, 2008

I'm a frequent visitor of the author's website, which influenced my decision to purchase this book. It is extremely interesting, but probably confusing to someone if they were not already familiar with Goro's theories. I personally loved it, but it's not for everyone.

Great book and everyone should read it once. Not as good as the guy's website though. Seriously. If you are into multicontextual thinking, it's the best site on the internet.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Work of Intuitive Genius, May 31, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Time Rivers: An Ancient Map of Time Revealing the Secret Legacy and Destiny of Human Civilization (Paperback)
I am familiar with Goro's work only because I was led to him years ago when I did a Google search to see if anyone out there was picking up indicators concerning a certain important and prophetic topic (which I shall not mention here). I found that Goro Adachi was, in a big way, but I didn't find anyone else. Today, six years later, this particular topic is all over the Internet! Through this discovery, and his book Time Rivers, I know that Goro is extremely gifted. I classify him as a "super-intuitive," and intuition is a source of knowledge that nothing can compete with. If you want to take a look into the future of the human mind, I highly recommend that you read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Encompassing, July 12, 2010
This review is from: The Time Rivers: An Ancient Map of Time Revealing the Secret Legacy and Destiny of Human Civilization (Paperback)
This is maybe one of the most important books that need to be read and is not as known as it should be. The unmentioned implications are staggering and perhaps beautifully fulfilling to those already somewhat familiar with the alternate history hobby. Not fully effective - but tantalizing and evocative.

And you double charge for shipping when you should have shipped both items together and saved me a shipping cost. How can the handling and shipping cost more than the books especially when the first one took a month to get here and im still waiting for the second one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Numerology and Mumbo Jumbo, October 2, 2007
This review is from: The Time Rivers: An Ancient Map of Time Revealing the Secret Legacy and Destiny of Human Civilization (Paperback)
I picked this up out of curiosity at the Library at the same time I picked up Carl Sagan's "The Demon Haunted World." I would say this author needs to read that book. "The Time Rivers" is a long account of how the geometric layout of important rivers in the world show secrets of Humanity's genesis and destiny.

Just one example shows how the text works. In the first chapter, he describes how the Great Bend in the Nile happening at 19.5 degrees north latitude is what lead him to "discover" the "secrets" expounded in the book. He writes, "... 19.5 degrees is even potentially a key to decoding reality itself; and it is a fact that the angle is found in the designs of many ancient monuments around the world, including [the pyramids] at Giza."

He proceeds to describe a whole lot of places where 19.5 degrees shows up, saying these are clues. He has unfortunately fallen prey to the fact that the human mind is natural pattern-matcher, and will find patterns even where there are none. Also, the mind likes to attribute deeper meaning to coincidental patterns.

If the author weren't clearly serious, this might make an amusing read in a similar vein to the film, "The Number 23." But as it stands, it's a monument to how good Man is at fooling himself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Drivel.. Rent 'Pi' instead, August 22, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Time Rivers: An Ancient Map of Time Revealing the Secret Legacy and Destiny of Human Civilization (Paperback)
The trouble with this guy and Hoagland and the various of them is the same as the man portrayed in the movie Pi (which I thought was terrible btw but worth watching the first 1/2 to see the point:P)..

You can "prove" anything when you are looking for an answer.. In the 19th century, statisticians "proved" that the height of the mini-skirt was directly related to the performance of the stock market.. Ooook.

This book is a nice little fantasy but I wouldn't take it too seriously.. Could he be right? Sure why not.. But given enough time, I could sit down and "prove" that the 1 dollar bill is responsible for the Challenger explosion.

Moral: Don't be so open-minded you let your brains fall out.
