From Library Journal

Based on the printed Time-Saver Standards for Landscape Architecture (McGraw, 1997) by Nicholas Dines and Charles Harris, this highly specialized disc is a landscape designer's dream come true. Covering a wide variety of project types (from public plazas to private gardens), it will be useful to the individual homeowner/ do-it-yourselfer as well as to professional landscape architects. The advantages it offers over print are many, the most impressive of which are the more than 350 landscape details in CAD and PICT formats with color photographs of completed examples. The highly customizable interactive designs are very easy to follow and should be comprehensible to most. Bottom Line: Highly recommended for public and academic libraries serving landscape architects; recommended, too, for serious gardeners' home libraries.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for a start on detailing..., June 5, 2000
This review is from: Time-Saver Standards Landscape Construction Details (CD-ROM)
After having wandered through it a bit, this software seems to provide a good starting point for detailing. The interface is quite easy to use, and provides enough choices to make the results fairly accurate. The details that are provided form a good skeleton for devising more appropriate ones (if necessary). The only problem is that the details are completely exploded, so changing them can be tedious (i.e. altering dimensions or hatches), and depending on your office standards, there's a lot of layer work that may be done to get pen assignments and all of that done. So, at first glance it looks like a good tool for a starting point, and to provide 'place holders' for the information that's needed on the details... plus... easy to use and the graphical interface is nice.
