This is the best Commissioned album yet. Time and Seasons is an amazing piece of work, because it succeeds in its perfect blend of excellent music and focused ministry. 3.0 out of 5 stars Time & Seasons
Bless the name of Jesus from whom all blessings flow. Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. I am a black Missionary devoted to the body of Christ and the Great commission to go into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been listening to Commissioned since their very beginning. I've appreciated the Spirit lead writing, bibical based songs...

This is the best Commissioned album yet. Time and Seasons is an amazing piece of work, because it succeeds in its perfect blend of excellent music and focused ministry. This album is not to be judged by the unfamiliar faces on the front cover. From the first song to the last, Time and Seasons lifts up the name of the Lord. Commissioned reminds us that love between men and women was created by God, and true to form, they take back the "love song" that has been polluted by the r+b genre. "One Love" and "Charge it to my head" are incredible renditions. The lyrics are on point and the music and melodies are awesome. "Clean Heart," "You Are Forgiven," "Glorious Praise," the Lord is definately in this. Don't be fooled by pretenders in the religious music arena that sing God's name and label their music "gospel." Time and Seasons is ministry at its highest level. A must have for all Christians.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Good, February 23, 2000

Commissioned chose to do something people have lately gone away from--make a FULL album of great work. This album not only displays their tremendous vocal talent, but also Marcus Cole's underrated unbelievable writing ability. Marcus wrote many of the songs on this album, and every song is undoubtedly great. If you liked "More Than I" from their last album, then you'll love 3/4th's of this one.

In my opinion, this album takes Gospel music to a whole new level and is almost a perfect, flawless, piece of art. I give it a 4.8 out of 5.0...so if you like Boyz II Men, Men of Standard, Brian McKnight, or Take 6, then go buy this and I promise you'll love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good to have you guys back!, February 23, 2000
This review is from: Time & Seasons (Audio CD)
I have greatly anticipated the return of Commissioned and this CD is certainly up their with their great offerings. The tracks are encouraging, the music is great, the lyrics are as rich as always, and the Lord is here. I really needed to hear, "Trying of Your Faith". It's a song in due season and a great encouragement for those of you who feel like your in a fire furnace trial. You guys were certainly "Commissioned" and we praise God for your faithfulness. Keep jammin cause we're still lovin ya!

5.0 out of 5 stars Anointed..Appointed..Equipped..Seasoned..Commissioned!!!!, April 20, 2001

Who knew?? Not since "I'm Going On" in '85 have I been totally blown away by such mastery of vocals and ministry. I've loved every project by Commissioned with my heart. But with all of the personnel changes over the years,as always, I wondered how the group would rise to the occasion on their next project..And just as they always do, Commissioned has exceeded every expectation. One can not deny the awesome hand of the Almighty God on this ministry! The anointing makes the difference..Groups have come and groups have gone but down through the years Commissioned has consistently gotten better and better...This project far transcends the typical gospel genre and has taken ministering to the place that it needed to get back to..God!!! This album has far-reaching appeal..I was in the 6th grade when I first fell in love with Commissioned's ministry and today my 6 and 2 year old boys love them just as much as I do.The material is masterfully presented with angelic vocals and skillful Spirit-led production. Mitchell is without a doubt the smoothest voice in the entire entertainment industry. I really look to see him leading the Heavenly choir when we get to Glory. Commissioned has never been so vocally potent. Marcus will make everyone forget about every other lead vocaist that has been with the group in the past. He is that gifted. The harmonies on this CD are tighter than they have EVER been. The songs rendered minister not only to God,but go right "into your house".Finally there is an album that expresses love for God and the family. In these end times with the divorce rate soaring I thank God for a ministry that addresses the simple things like loving your wife and children.Ain't nobody mad but the enemy!!Words are inadequate to really express what a blessing this CD is to me..I'm almost afraid to see what's next..But I earnestly await what is to come..

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking it to another level, March 23, 2000

I am greatly blessed and impressed with this album. I've been a listener of Commissioned ever since their first album in 85', and their message and effects of their ministry have not changed. This is a beautiful album. Even though they've been through many transitions with various members, Mitch and Karl have managed to sustain the Commissioned ministry. God has taken Mitch's artistic, poetic and gifted writing as well as his producing ability to another level of anointing with this album. It is very well done. The songs are uplifting and minister not only to your soul, but also touch the issues of our everyday relationships with other people. I love the old school and ultra contemporary vibe that they have going on. The two new group members are great contributors to this ministry. Their integrated voices create a beautiful harmonious effect and sound as if they were always a part of this ministry team. At one time I sadly thought that Commissioned, as a group was finished, but this was a wonderful surprise and notice that they are still going strong and are taking it to another level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Commissioned Hits A Home Run Again, February 22, 2000

I have had the pleasure of being a Commissioned fan since their first album. This album (as with the others) clearly shows the group's ability to be versitile while maintaining integrity in Christian music. The album is contemporary gospel with a praise & worship foundation. The two new members of the group add a new flavor to the group. This is a must have for anyone who enjoys quality Chrisitan music.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONCE AGAIN!, February 23, 2000
This review is from: Time & Seasons (Audio CD)
All I can say is AMAZING. I didn't think they could match their last album but they did. The lyrical content is mind blowing. God is smiling down on this album for sure. This is where Boyz II Men picked up their vocal styles. If your a new Commissioned fan I suggest getting "Irreplaceable Love" as well. Boyz II Men wrote on that album and it is beautiful. This is a MUST BUY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why Did I Wait So Long?, July 1, 2003
This review is from: Time & Seasons (Audio CD)
This album is beautiful!!! The first couple of times I listened to it, I literally cried. Unlike many artists today: they recognize God, their words have meaning, their vocals are flawless, and their harmony is great! On this record, each person shines! Regrettably, I must admit that I passed over this c.d. on several occassions. I figured since most of the former members had gone solo, it wouldn't be the same. In a way, I was right. This group is not like it used to be... it's BETTER! These guys have wonderful chemistry, and I am looking so forward to hearing more from them.

Let me be honest. After Montell and Marvin left the group after Irreplaceable Love, I thought my boys were finished. My heart greatly yearned for more Commissioned and I was resigned to the fact that I wasn't going to get it. Then here comes this album. I was still a little skeptical(why I don't know), because of the two new members. However, these guys did it once again. It's amazing how the blend of their voices get better even though there's been constant change! Mitchell and Karl are the anchors, and Marcus and Chris fit nicely. The harmony is incredible. It sounds like these guys have been singing together forever. You need to buy this album. "Create In Me A Clean Heart" is wonderful. "Trying Of Your Faith" is another Commissioned neck-breaker. This album does nothing but further enhance the legacy that is "Commissioned"
