5.0 out of 5 stars My son with apraxia loves this CD, August 8, 2004
This review is from: Time to Sing! II (Audio CD)
This song is almost always in our car's cd player. My son who is 3 and has apraxia never sang before I purchased this CD. He loves the songs and the slower tempo allows him to sing along. He now is starting to sing along with his friends in class which he never had the confidence to do before. I would highly recommend this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great CD for Kids with Speech Disorders, August 8, 2005
This review is from: Time to Sing! II (Audio CD)
These CD's were made specifically for children with apraxia and other speech disorders. I ordered "Time to Sing" and was very happy with it. I even enjoy listening to it.

I think "Time to Sing II" is even better because it's slower and the pronounciation is clearer. My 3 year old daughter, Zoe, and I really enjoy listening to and singing along with this CD. It has a jazzy sound that is appealing to both of us. It's also great for bedtime since the pleasant slow pace of the music is quite relaxing.

It is very important to have CD's like these for children with apraxia. Not often do we hear about "apraxia" but it can be a very frustrating condition for a child and others who try to discipher what the child is saying.

It's great fun for a speech disabled child to be able to learn to sing songs like other kids and it's especially valuable for their self-esteem. I highly recommend parents of a child with apraxia buy these CD's as part of their overall speech therapy program.

I will soon be buying the Christmas version of "Time to Sing".

5.0 out of 5 stars Real musicianship, at last!, April 1, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Time to Sing! II (Audio CD)
My daughter has speech problems, and I've forked out money for far too many amateurish, unlistenable music CDs geared to kids with special needs. The "Time to Sing" CDs are a very welcome change. They feature real musicians who take on the artistic challenge of creating GOOD, slow interpretations of the songs. Some of them are hilarious. (After hearing this CD, you may never go back to the Sesame Street version of "Rubber Ducky" again.)

I agree with another reviewer -- "Time to Sing II" is just a bit better than "Time to Sing I". If you're going to buy just one, buy the second one.

I've heard that kids with sensory processing issues might have strong reactions, either positive or negative, to the slow tempos. This might explain the disparate reviews this CD has gotten.
