5.0 out of 5 stars Without a Doubt, One of the Best Albums I've Ever Heard, February 19, 2011
This review is from: Time Taunts Me (MP3 Download)
Lead singer and song-writer Ari Picker is a musical genius, and I thought Lost in the Trees' second album "All Alone in an Empty House" was one of the top 3 albums of 2010. This kind of orchestral indie rock is my favorite kind of music, and Lost in the Trees became my favorite band when they re-released Time Taunts Me in 2011. (could simply not find this album anywhere before the re-release).

I really admire an artist who can not only sing great, but also write parts for several orchestral instruments, and then construct songs that feature them all beautifully.

This all comes accross in really every single song on Time Taunts Me. I really enjoy the pure instrumental parts where Ari shows off his composer chops. Parts of Lost in the Trees' songs (on both albums) to me rival the best classical music I've ever heard - just with a little more edge.

When I want to introduce people to great Indie music, I start with Lost in the Trees. It never fails to disapoint.

This is a must own album for music lovers. Anyone who can appreciate great music will enjoy this album.

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this CD. The music is epic, beautiful, frightening and poignant. It is a mental escape through a whimsical journey that reflects life and the effects of time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Orchestral Indie Folk Rock, March 30, 2011

The title for my review just about sums up the style of this bands music. At first I was comparing them to another Indie band called "Pale Young Gentlemen" but this band has a much more orchestral element to them. Imgaine, if you can, your favorite Indie/Folk band or musician and now imagine that same band using an orchestra that leans heavily on classical themes to back the Indie music and melodies...what? They're out of their dang tree!!! No, they're just Lost in the Trees.

There are so many layers to their music that it's difficult to get bored listening to them.

I'm a huge fans of string arrangements in music and this takes it to the next level. Think of it as Classical or Opera music for Indie fans.
