This review is from: Time and Tim Remembered (Hardcover)
Milton, the late author, and the youngest of his many brothers, was clearly a softie - so overcome by nostalgia and grief that it took over 20 years for this book to be published after he had written the body of the book! Of course, the addition of the multiple Afterwords is helpful due to inclusions of projects, colleagues, and clients he'd previously overlooked. For a book that represents the history of the Pflueger brothers' architectural legacy in the Bay Area and beyond, I'd have liked to see greater utilization of the photographs. Bigger photos; perhaps an entire signature in color rather than just one page and the dust jacket - that would more readily convey the beauty of Tim Pflueger's work at the Castro and Paramount, 450 Sutter and the Pac Tel Building. But then, that's where Therese Poletti's book shines - the two books together are a dynamic duo. |
