5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, May 22, 2009
By Eric Douglas (New York) - See all my reviews
I love time travel books and I just added "The Time Travelers Academy" to my all time favorite list.

The book caught my attention because it's listed on Amazon.com top popular time travel books. I did my research before I purchased the book; I visited the authors' website and discovered the book is currently being adapted into a screenplay for a feature film.

With more searching I discovered the books YouTube video and the authors newspaper article regarding the screenplay/movie project. I'm very impressive to have read he obtained a literary agent and a movie producer for his book.

Congratulations....

The book is a good read, especially if you love science fiction and most especially time travel. The story starts off with a bang...

A gigantic meteorite heading for Earth is deflected and hits Mars hurling thousands of small meteorites to into outer space. Some of these meteorites are carrying an alien bacterium that eventually reached Earth months later. This bacterium has a unique ability that causes its host to rapidly adapt to its surroundings.

The bacterium merges with the bird flu causing the bird flu to change. The bird flu can now be acquired via human to human contact. Since the bacteria is not of Earth the only cure and option is to search for other civilizations that may have already encountered the alien bacteria.

The Time Travelers Academy computers came up with the names of the top person's worldwide who are most likely to complete the training and the dangerous mission into the future.

This is the start of the science fiction aspect of the book and I loved the idea.

I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent time travel story..., May 19, 2009
By Sam Holbrook (Baltimore MD) - See all my reviews
This book was written like a made for TV movie.... It starts off good and ends very good.

The story is centered on the John Richards, whom is drafted by the Time Travelers Academy, the Academy drafts him and others to save the world yet the main character must also save his own world.

A meteorite shower brings an alien bacteria to Earth, the bacteria has the ability to cause its host to rapidity adapt to its surroundings. While on the mission the main character is accidently pulled into a black hole in space and rapidity adapts to the powers of the black hole...

He becomes super human, with his super powers he is able to bend light and propel himself past the speed of light which causes him to time travel.

I loved it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book captured my imagination, April 10, 2009
This book captured my imagination; I downloaded the book off Kindle. (Spoiler Alert) I was enticed by the time travel aspect of the book... It's so new and original.

The author did a great job in putting the story, plot and time travel aspect together. I would describe the plot to the Time Traveler's Academy as: What would happen if someone read and followed draft orders from the future?

Once the main character followed the draft orders from one month into the future and attends the Academy his life went on a different path. He leaves his Russian born fiancé to attend the Academy. Not knowing that enemies from his past have caught up with him... His enemies couldn't locate him and so they destroyed his loved ones and torched his martial arts business.

At the Academy he goes on a dangerous mission into the future to save Earth, upon his return he realizes he must set the time line right or just somehow be there on the time and date his enemies caught up with his loved ones and torched his martial arts business so he could at least try to prevent it.

This is where the Time Travelers Academy laws of time travel come into place and the rules of time travel the author set forth in the book come into place. This is a truly amazing book; the author actually gives examples of time travel throughout the book while maintaining a unique story.
