5.0 out of 5 stars a timeless treasure
Time Turns the Moon is a cd for all times. I catch myself listening to it again and again for the first time. By that I mean I always seem to find something new in the tremendous musicianship and the soulful vocals. It is a piece of art and beauty, a timeless treasure. Tret Fure is simply magnificient and most importantly she is REAL.

This album is monotonous and rather flat in affect. Tret Fure is a better "duo" singer. Although in her duets with Cris Williamson, it is obvious who carries the depth of the album,(not Tret!)she seems to add a nice supportive voice. I had two of Tret's solo albums that I gave away after listening to them once. Maybe it's a good thing she has gone on to other...

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful album to own., November 28, 2001
This review is from: Time Turns the Moon (Audio CD)
This album is simply glorious. Tret really shows her word skills are right up there with her musical skills. In "The Girls all Dance" I can just see that dance hall - heck, I was IN those halls xx years ago!! "The Working Poor" and "Against the Grain" are awesome descriptions of tough times and tough people.

My suggestions ? Get "Time turns the Moon", "Terminal Hold", "Edges of the Heart" AND her latest CD, "Back Home" and your ears will bless you.

This album is strong and powerful, rich and deep, heartfelt and pure. Tret's lyrics speak of her soul, obviously. Hold me to your Heart is my favorite cut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soft rock and folk, November 29, 2001

Tret's Time Turns the Moon is an excellent album. Her music, as always, is heart-felt, thought provoking, and easy to listen to. She has a wide range of gifts that contribute to some beautiful lyrics and some great musicianship. She is very tuned in to the workings of relationships, the environment, social situations and the like that makes her music relevant to the complexities of life. Her latest album, Back Home, was #1 for 25 consecutive weeks on the OutVoice Top 40 chart. A singer and musician well worth listening to, following, and watching as she keeps getting better and better.

I, too, am a music fan, and therefore a fan of Tret Fure's fine songwriting ability and musical talent. "Time Turns the Moon" is a favorite of mine--as always, she speaks of things we are ALL familiar with while expressing her own soul in the lines and chords of her songs. I have this CD on tape and I play it in my car OFTEN--when I need to be pensive and thoughtful, when I need to hear something uplifting, when I need to turn out a private karaoke concert....if you're ever in Greensboro, you can bet you'll hear "Time Turns the Moon" blasting from the windows of my car!

I just read the review of "Music Fan from Greensboro, NC" and we must have different CDs. There is some top-notch songcraft here--from writing to performing to production! Poignant love songs and screamin' rock-and-roll.....and everything in between. This is a collection of songs that demonstrates some major talent. I hope that Music Fan from Greensboro NC will send his/her Tret albums over to me, as I tend to wear them out.
