Yes. However, they support different DOCSIS levels i.e., 1.1, 2.1.,3.0 depending on the city you live in. In my case, I found out my TWC supplied modem only runs at 1.1 max even though they will support 2.1 in my area. They have not rolled out 3.0 where I live.
This works FINE with TWC SD, I just installed the modem yesterday.
50% speed increase over what I was seeing (now its 30down/1.8 up, used to be 20down/1.2up on old SB4200 modem). If the tech guy you're talking to doesn't know how to set it up, have your issue escalated to a senior tech -- I had to stay on the phone for about 20 minutes to get it escalated to a person actually knew what they were doing.
This is no fault of the modem though, it works FINE with Time Warner San Diego.
Just found this thread. I don't see any updates since 7/22..did it work. I ordered the SB6120 yesterday, after doing the online tech support chat. I live in Cincinnati OH area and on line tech support said it will work in my area...guess I find out next week sometime.
Does anyone know if this will work with TWC's triple play (so VoIP) in NYC? If not, is there any way to connect this cable modem to the supplied Arris modem, and use the Arris only for the VoIP? Thank you!
**UPDATE...from my 08/06/10 post. Mine works great with Time Warner Cable here in Cincinnati Ohio. AFTER you connect everything and power it up you will have to call Time Warner Tech Support and give them the MAC address of the new Surfboard Modem otherwise it wont be recognized by their network. Dealing with Time Warner was by far the most frustrating part, it took me a few minutes to get through to the right person in tech support. I got transferred 3 times, when I finally got to "level 3 tech support" (the folks who really know what they are doing) it was up and running in 2 minutes. It's been working fine ever since. BTW the MAC address is on the modem and on the box it comes in, so it's easy to find.
** Jan 2013 UPDATE...Mine died this fall one Sunday AM it just quit working. All the LED's looked normal, but it was sustaining packet loss, at least per the Time Warner level 2 tech. So i am back to leasing for now. After this I am not sure I want to buy another one.
They (Brighthouse) cut us to 15M down without warning if we used the SB6120. Of course prior to that I got 60M down with their DOCSIS 3 (lights turn blue on SB6120). After taking out SB6120 to get powerboost back am getting 24down/1.8up for $60. What's your down/up? (speedtest with a dot net)
