More Musical Wizardry from Chick,

Unbelievable. Purely Genius. These words are an understatement of the work Chick Corea has created with Time Warp. I have a hard time naming another album that so beautifully (and literally) tells a story like this one does. It is reminiscent in its musical story telling to The Mad Hatter, which I need not describe if you are looking at this already. The musicianship is of course top notch on this album, and being a drummer myself, I especially enjoy Gary Novak's absolutely commanding and tasteful playing. I would have to say that it is some of the best drumming on any album I've ever heard. Paired with Jon Patitucci, its enough to send any drummer/bassist into a dimension of pure ecstacy. As usual, Bob Berg (r.i.p) tears it up with the most gorgeous of saxophone work, and Chick Corea- well, I won't even waste my time because nothing I could write could ever do his playing justice. BOTTOM LINE- Purchase this album ASAP, especially if you enjoyed Paint the World. I promise you won't regret it.

Deserves to be Better Known,

Is it the offbeat cover? The fairly weird liner notes? Or some combination of the two?? Whatever the reason, it's fair to suggest that "Time Warp" is an unjustly neglected mid-1990s album from Chick Corea. Without taking anything away from bassist John Patitucci or drummer Gary Novak, both of whom are outstanding, "Time Warp's" real highlight--from this listener's perspective-- is the magical interplay between Corea and the late, great master of the saxophone, Bob Berg. A real treat, especially for those who can pick-up an inexpensive second-hand copy!

this cd is never mentionned when we talk about chick`s essential cds.every player is at the top of his game and the music is somewhat futuristic.not to mention bob berg`s coltrane-esque solo near the end.

Take the time to listen to good music,

What can we say? This is one of Chick's best album. The quartet is excellent, every musician play his instrument as if they were inspired by god. Every song is great and every song has a diferent mood. Sometimes you feel excited or relaxed and all the time you feel the beauty of all the compositions. The best thing of all, apart of them as great musicians, it is them as a quartet, they are a great team that when you listen to you can say "the all is more than the sum of the parts"
