Grade 1-3–The three friends from the humorous Time Warp Trio series (Viking) star in this easy-to-read adventure. Here, Joe, Fred, and Sam time travel to Antarctica in 1911 and meet Captain Robert F. Scott and other members of his expedition. Unfortunately, the text is choppy and contains little of Scieszka's trademark wittiness. No wonder: it's adapted by one author (Catherine Hapka) and based on a television script by another (Kathy Waugh). The full-color cartoon artwork is taken from the animated television series.
