Book Description

January 2004
The "cool" crowd shuns Katie Farrell and her friends, Corky, Lily and Henry. They routinely flaunt their families' connections and their disdain for anyone who doesn't fit their narrow and unyielding standards of couture and appearance. But Katie and her friends are not easily ignored. They're smart, compassionate and curious. And they're not afraid to stand up for what's right, whether they're challenging an arrogant businessman, or protecting a dog from a malicious owner, or forcing their classmates to examine deeper issues of justice and mercy, they refuse to be intimidated. Their courage is tested when one of their friends is critically injured as a result of a malicious prank. As they wrestle with the reality of their friend's injury, Katie takes a strange journey that helps her see things in a different light.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Time Will Tell" is a novel that offers young adult readers characters they can relate to and learn from. There are situations that will make readers think about issues ranging from bullying, to animal rights, to justice and prejudice. Written for young adult readers, "Time Will Tell" addresses themes of mercy and compassion thoughtfully and candidly.

From the Author

We remember what it was like to be outsiders, occupants of what often seemed like a parallel universe in our schools. We also remember how fortunate we were to have adults who encouraged us to be independent and to treat others with dignity and respect. "Time Will Tell" is our thank-you letter to the adults in our lives who made us believe that better days and opportunities would come. They did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fitting In, January 31, 2004
This review is from: Time Will Tell (Library Binding)
Finally, a book for the child who wants to fit in. The heroine deals with the same issues that all middle school age students, especially girls, struggle with - too fat, too dark, too whatever. Addressing those concerns would be enough, but there is more - a wonderful twist that will keep the reader interested. Historically accurate with a web page for the interested reader, Time Will Tell is the perfect book for the contemporary middle-schooler.
