Having only ever heard Tucky Buzzard's 4th & 5th albums (Alright On The Night and Buzzard), I was pleasantly surprised to find that their first three albums were remastered and released in this fine two disc set. What a treat to hear this band from their beginnings to the long lost (Spanish only release) third album. Managed and produced by longtime Rolling Stones bassistBill Wyman, this band was clearly a diamond in the rough. From a great band that never made it as big as they should have, these tunes clearly display some fine songs that harken a bygone era. As the linear notes say "pitched somewhere between the more pastoral Psychedelic sound of yore and the new, heavier Prog-Rock style". Thanks again Bill and now let's get albums 4 and 5 remastered and released on CD! :)

This is absolutely killer 2 CD compilation with first 3 albums. How these guys never made it big, is beyond me. I have never even heard about them until recently, although I have a collection of several thousand CD's and LP's from 60's and 70's.This is very intelligent hard rock, produced by Bill Wyman from Rolling Stones. I can't stop listening to this CD. This goes to top 20 of my music collection.

This double cd will be a welcome addition to anyone who appreciates '70s Savoy Brown/Fleetwood Mac(before Buckingham/Nicks)/Moody Blues/Deep Purple/Uriah Heep/King Crimson. This collection includes Tucky's first 3 albums under that name (I'm pretty sure Bill Wyaman produced these three). Their first album was the one I wanted (and took a chance that I would like the other albums) and is probably my favorite still, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the other two albums. keyboards and guitar are dominant, but the whole group make one hell of a band. Their is a certain pop sensibility to much of their first album, but they are more than that as their lyrics will reveal. The second and third albums are decidely different than their first and foray into Moody Blues /early '70s Fleetwood Mac/early Savoy Brown territory. While I prefer the first album, the other two are worthy of consideration if you like the aforementioned bands. This band deserved much more success than they did. A true "sleeper". The cds sound quality is superior, Crank up and enjoy. |
