Biography

Green Day were kids from working-class backgrounds who came of age in the underground punk scene in Berkeley. Though they had already released two albums (1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk), the band truly announced its arrival with 1994's Dookie, a dynamic blast of exuberant punk-pop that sold 15 million copies and earned the band its first Grammy® Award for Best Alternative ... Though this song was released a decade ago, it still remains a personal favorite. Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of Green Day at all, but as far as I'm concerned, this is one of the all-time best of the nineties.
There's something very comforting about the song. During everytime of personal crisis, the song can help. With it's simple guitar riffs and basic but beautiful lyrics, you just can't help but love it. After the World Trade Center was attacked, I dug through all my old CDs looking for some sort of solace. This is the only CD that not only calmed me down but also helped me think. If you've never heard it, buy it today. If you fondly remember it from not so long ago, now's your chance to pick it up.

I've liked Green Day for years now. But then they came out with Nimrod and took the world by surprise by writing one of the best and most memorable slow-paced rock songs of our time. This CD not only gives you that song, but also two others that were only released on the pricy Austrailian import of Nimrod. Both these songs diverge from their harder attitude and are great for people who like Green day songs like Time of your life but not stuff like Basket Case or Brain Stew.

I like Greenday quite a bit, they're one of my favorite bands.
I also love this song, it's one of the best. I know a lot of you will read this and think "who is this person kidding, that is SO not the best song" (well maybe not those exact words) but I still love it. It's very true, and makes a great graduation song or "goodbye" song.If they play this at gradution, I know I'll cry. Don't laugh! It takes a good, emotional to get me worked up like that, so that says something. Well, I'll get off my soapbox now. Have the time of your life listening to this song. As long as you're expecting something TOO edgy, I know you will.

I agree that this is a perfect choice for people who like "Time of Your Life" but really don't care for any of the band's other releases. The other two songs on this single("Suffocate" and "You Lied") are great! They are more like "Time of your Life." It's too bad Green Day hasn't done more songs like these.

I love this song so much. It brings me so many feelings of good times with the guys that I was at camp with. We had so much fun that summer. I will never forget those 4 days we had, it was so memorable. We heard this song one night while we were going home to my bud's Craig's house and it is just such a beautiful song. My other bud Jesse was singing it when we got in his house and we were just in love with the song. Whenever I think of the song "Time Of You Life" I will think of all the good times I had with my friends, the summer of '98, I'll never forget it.

This song describes exactly what graduation is all about... "another turning point, a fork stuck in the road. Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go.." It's all about making choices and sticking to them or not. College is a new and exciting place, but not everyone is prepared; this song kind of tells us to make the best of what we've learned, and remember what highschool was for us ... and to face the fact that we have to leave it now for bigger purposes. I love this song, and hope it goes platinum because Green Day deserves all the royalties that come from this awesome single.

In the song it goes "it's something unpredictible but in the end is right, I hope you have the time of your life" that reminds me of homecoming, i wanted to go with somebody and nobody thought it would happen, but it did, it was something unpredictible but in the end was right.
