5.0 out of 5 stars One of their best...
E-town Concrete have always been a band i enjoy listening to often. Great diversity, good musicianship. Powerful vocals. Technical drums that never get boring. I've noticed that people call them rap metal or rap/rock. Wrong... If anything is rap/rock, it's Linkin Park. There's no real metal in Linkin Park. E-Town Concrete are influenced mainly by the New Jersey...

E-Town Concrete are influenced mainly by the New Jersey Hardcore/Metalcore scene and hip-hop like Nas, Tupac, etc. They're one of the only bands that blend hip-hop with hardcore or metal and actually do all genres justice. E-town Concrete murder weak bands like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. They're also a better listen than Candiria, another band that does both genres justice. If you're into hip-hop or hardcore/metalcore at all pick this up, along with the others. If you're more of a hip-hop fan start off with their latest release "Renaissance". It's less of a metalcore feel than their earlier stuff. E-Town Concrete is truly a great listen, beautiful, emotional, and extremely powerful. Highly recommended...

peace......

5.0 out of 5 stars E-Town is takin over the world!, July 15, 1999

Probably the best cd I've ever owned. Surpasses any other musician with ease. Musically, the album could not have gotten any better, and with the addition of Anthony's vocals, it just escalated even more. The ONLY true hip-hop/rock blend there is. Fans of both Hardcore and Rap will love this. GET IT!

This is definitely one of the newest and phatest hardcore bands around.They mix a hip hop sound with the traditional hardcore riffs.Absolutely a pioneering album, cocentrating on lifes' harsh realities and dealing with them. Definitely 5 stars for this one.

I think Adam is a scrub, he doesn't know what is original and what is good music, he's the tipic person who listen the albums once and want to judicate...

Times 2 $hine is by far their best album. They started this hole yo-core deal along with Dog Eat Dog and New School (check em out if possible) back in the good ole days when there wasn't no crappy yo-core out there like now. Raw energy, unmasked emotions, everything u want in some hard hittin music wit some tight rhymes sliced in2 the deal. U can't go wrong wit dis album n the rest of em. I'm origionally from northeasrtern PA n they played shows round the area alot and damn do they put on a good show. If u ever have the chance check em out. They definetly got their own sound 2 them which makes em ever better. No band I've ever heard got power, emotion, n skills like the ETC crew. The only other band I could think of that is even near ETC is maybe Ill Nino's first album or Slipknot.

Very original before rap/rock got popular. Anthony's voice is SO powerful - Amazing stage presence as well. This definetly their best album, even though there aren't many to choose from! ;-) Even though my taste for most hardcore is diminishing, I can always listen to E-town for power and energy when I'm tired or down. I sure wish they come out with some more albums... i havent heard from them in a long long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing., September 30, 2002
This review is from: Time2shine (Audio CD)
When you hear rap/rock, the combination usually makes your stomach turn upsidedown. You think of sugar-coated prodigy's such as Limp Bizkit and Crazy Town, who's lyrics you'd only hope would make sense. E-town Concrete's combination of heart-felt lyrics that any human being could relate to against the grain with music that carries Anthony's words. He talks about how growing up isn't all smiles, the hardships you deal with and the obstacles you have to jump over everyday just to make it in this world. With songs like "4 The Fame" that tell you about a life drowned in sorrow or "One Life to Live" that basically cuts through all the BS and says you only have one life to live, so make it good while you're here. Music today is relayed with messages of negativity and horrid outlooks. Through all the mist and the wannabe's, E.town Concrete has managed to stand tall as one of New Jersey's finest. I don't consider this CD just music, I consider it more as a soundtrack to life. And that's the truth.

This has to be one of the best bands I've ever heard. I hate rap with a passion...but when Anthony gets behind the mic his passion precedes him...their deep lyrics if you listen. The guitarist is the man, drummer is def. one of the best around, bass is there...if your not listening to this right now then your missing out. If you want proof of the power in their lyrics listen to "One life to live" it's incrediable. And check out Second Coming...their best CD by far. Take my advice...grab this, you won't be disapointed. {PEACE}

P.S. Anyone who says they sound like Limp Bizkit must be tone deaf.

E town concrete are one of the freshest dosages of talent in the true rap/ metal genre. Based on more than a couple screams, the music represents the angst and troubled lifestyles faced by the kids growin up in the 'hood. E Town packs nice tight rhyhyms, and great live shows. Pick this cd up.
