4.0 out of 5 stars one great CD!!!, June 20, 2005

This review is from: Timebomb (Audio CD)
UDO is continuing to release his albums annually. This is his fourth album after he left Accept. I have listened his later albums but this album just amazes with its powerful, fast, crystal clear heavy metal music. The lyrics are clever and not boring. At first listening you would say this is a trash melodic album. It has everything and I would say the best CD cover!!! It lasts about 40 min. and there is no sign of slowing down. Classic tunes Metal Eater, Timebomb, Back In Pain, Powersquad, Burning Heat, Metal Maniac Master Mind....
The only thing I am complaining about that is too fast for my taste(matter of preference), so Heavy Metal fans pick this one, it has sounds of 80s and 90s. Long Live UDO!!!

Timebomb is a typical U.D.O effort, packed with searing vocals as only UDO can muster, fabulous guitar work, curtesy of the very talented Mathias Dieth, pounding drums and an excellent production. This particular CD is from 1991 but stands the test of time. The differences of one UDO CD from another are hardly noticable. If you love up tempo true metal music made by someone who has been doing it for twenty years and still does it well, I recommend picking up this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great solo album from ex-Accept singer, December 18, 2000
This review is from: Time Bomb (Audio CD)
One of the most intense albums I've ever heard, Timebomb is one of Udo's best albums. It's not as good as Accept's best albums (such as "Restless & Wild" & "Staying A Life"), but it's better than some of theirs (such as "Metal Heart" & "Eat The Heat") as well as other solo albums by Udo (such as "Animal House" & "Holy"). Unlike those 2 solo albums, this one has only 1 slow song (Metal Maniac Master Mind), the rest of the songs are closer to "Breaker"/"Restless & Wild"-era Accept. Guitarist Matthias Dieth plays many fast technically advanced solos & leads here. He's not as good as Accept's Wolf Hoffmann, but he's still better than approx. 90% of other hard rock guitarists. My favorite songs here are "Burning Heat", "Powersquad", "Metal Eater", & "Back In Pain", all of which are very fast & intense power metal/thrash metal songs. As always, Udo's screamed vocals are awesome & fit the music perfectly. If you like this album, I'd also recommend the albums "Better Than Raw" (Helloween), "Clayman" (In Flames), & "Lightning to the Nations" a.k.a. "Diamond Nights" (Diamond Head).
