Awesome "picture" of History, March 27, 2006
This review is from: The Timechart History of the World: 6000 Years of World History Unfolded (Hardcover)
I bought my copy at the British Museum, London, where much of the information is specially reproduced from. It has an over 30 foot timeline of history starting with Adam. Shows what was happening throughout the world at the same time. Kings, major battles, treaties, even US presidents.

Amazing, April 25, 2007
This review is from: The Timechart History of the World: 6000 Years of World History Unfolded (Hardcover)
This timechart was originally made in 1890, here re-produced as a facsimile, which outlines the late Victorian world view of history. It is delightfully non politically correct - history ends at 4000bc and only western, biblical and Chinese civilization is represented. The period 1900-present has been added in this edition. It is printed on sturdy cardboard in a large format folded book. It is most useful for understanding the 19th mainstream view of history, such as an adjunct when reading literature from the 19th century, or any non-fiction work about the 19th century. I reference it all the time, it has helped me understand the Victorian world view. It is a fairly accurate guide for western and "oriental" history starting around the time of the Roman Empire going forward. The artwork is some of the best I've seen in a timechart, again, delightfully Victorian, all hand painted.

amazing way to look at history, August 3, 2011
This review is from: The Timechart History of the World: 6000 Years of World History Unfolded (Hardcover)
we must have bought and given away a dozen copies of this amazing book, which places history in the context of what was happening all over the world in the same time frame. A must for anyone trying to understand European royalty, wars and history in particular.
