OK, so I'm a little biased. He's my friend's stepfather (the song "Della" on this CD was written for her). You may know him better from his years of work with Steve Tibbetts. But he's a very talented percussionist in his own right and simply amazing to watch on stage, surrounded by a wide variety of instruments and samplers, bouncing from one instrument to the next, sampling a couple and setting them to run in the background as he layers more instruments and rhythms on top. On this, Anderson's first solo album, he works with a number of other musicians (plus Tibbetts) to create a variety of sounds, some manic and tribal, others simply pretty and soothing. Percussion is the heart of his sound, but there's so much more there - you really have to listen to understand.
