More About the Author

Writing about myself is not as easy as writing the stories of my heroes and heroines. You see, my life is nowhere as interesting or as exciting. I grew up in a large family (eight, 5 boys and 3 girls) and learned to read at a young age (my dear mama's influence, may her soul rest in peace). I read anything I could get my hands on, and when I couldn't, I read the bible. Amazing how engrossing those Old Testament stories can be.

I later discovered Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. Then in my teens, I stumbled upon my older sister's stash of Mills & Boons and discovered the eighth world wonder, romance.

SHATTER THE SKY was my first read. Yeah. I know it's weird I can still remember the name nearly thirty years later. It meant that much to me. I can't remember who the author was. Janet Daily? Maybe. I become a romance fan overnight.

Fast forward to high school. I jokingly told my best friend I'd one day become a writer and she laughed. I didn't seriously consider writing with publishing in mind until I finished my PhD in chemistry and was expecting my second child. So now I have published three books, completed four more and a YA fantasy, and I keep learning and growing as a writer.

When I'm not writing, I spend time with my family. We reside in a picturesque town in Utah, surrounded by lush vegetation and mountains. Summers are hot, spring and fall colorful, and winters cold. I've been here for seventeen years now and love it. It's home. We're now a family of seven.

This is an excellent book. I was thoroughly surprised that it was so good. Save for working--I was pretty much glued to this book. The passion between Cat and Tahj is "off the chain".
It has mystery, suspense, excitement, charm & wit... all the elements of a good read. I strongly recommend this book for anyone looking for a great love story or for those who are unsure of what they'd like to read next.

Just when I thought Bella couldn't outdo the story of Angela McGee and Jerry Taylor in 'One Day At A Time' which by the way was the bomb! She writes this story involving Jerry Taylor's brother Tahj Taylor! This book was hot with some great twists and turns involving Tahj and stuntwoman Cat Simmons. Their story is hot and full of adventure. I am a big fan of Bella and once you read this story you will become one two and will purchase her other books and love them as well.

She is a stunt actor and he is a private detective and they are both very independent people, but when their paths cross in the novel TIMELESS DEVOTION by Bella McFarland, they slowly and sensually become one. When Catherine first notices Taj on her latest movie set, she tries to act unaffected by his handsome build and devilish smile; however, she underestimates his ability to be persistent in all things he wants. Make no mistake, Taj wants Catherine, so with perseverance he pursues her and eventually wrangles a lunch and dinner date from her. Although reluctant, Catherine finds herself drawn to Taj and his kind nature and sexual magnetism, and what starts out as a couple of dates turns into an all-out romance. When Catherine's baby brother needs help, she enlists Taj in finding a local priest who has suddenly disappeared. When Taj accepts the case, he doesn't realize he will have to protect Catherine and himself from the Russian mafia.

Bella McFarland ignited the right amount of passion and sensuality for Catherine and Taj as they found love and romance. These characters were well-developed and realistic. Their love and companionship grew as the story progressed. The added suspense of outrunning the Russian mafia and discovering who is trying to hurt the couple gave readers an added bonus. However, the storyline with the Russian mafia was not as clear and focused as I would have liked, and the suspenseful end was predictable. The author gave only minimal background on this Russian mafia and how all the players were truly involved, and I knew the whodunit well before the climatic conclusion. Nonetheless, for lovers of romance this story had the right chemistry for love.
