5.0 out of 5 stars Something for everyone
An all around solid cd. Kenny doesn't get his due recognition. This is a great project. "Giving Up" makes you not want the cd to end.

Props to Kenny Lattimore for making a CD of well-known and not so well-known cover songs. When I heard his rendition of Norman Connors' You Are My Starship, I was hooked. Then when I actually gave the entire CD a listen, I wasn't disappointed. Kenny's forte is the ballads, but he's no slouch on the up-tempo stuff. I don't really care for his take on And I Love Her and...

4.0 out of 5 stars Classy...Smooth...Soulful, September 18, 2008

Thanks for bringing "grown folks" music back! This is not just another CD full of remakes but Kenny does a great job in giving us truly timeless music. My favorites include: "And I Love Her", "Everybody Here Wants You", and "Givin' Up". Kenny's interpretation of "It Ain't No Use" shows he's a Stevie fan in addition to the upbeat "That's the Way Love Is". Really good music for the mature audience. Keep up the great work, Kenny.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Vocie, September 9, 2008
This review is from: Timeless (Audio CD)
Kenny Lattimore first made an impression on me back in 96 on the timeless wedding song For You. After releasign two CD's of duets with his equally talented, Lattimore returns with an album of covers. Lattimore's falestto easily works wonders on You Are My Starship & Everybody Here Wants You. Since Lattimore has such a strong falestto I would have loved to hear him do either Switch's Calling On All Girls or El Debarge's Love Always instead of And I Love Her, but all in all this is a fine album. Lattimore like R&B crooner Eric Benet (who also released a CD today) is one of the few modern R&B singers who can sing anything and well sound amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless....A Classic, September 16, 2008

This one's definitely one to have in your collection. It's a classic. Kenny does a wonderful job on these covers. I like the Elton John cover and Stevie Wonder's. 5/5 Rating.

beautiful voice, song and arrangements. This man is so robbed of recognition. He's one of the most gifted vocalists out there and no one gives him his props. Please get this cd,you won't be sorry.

The CD was great, the songs that he sung even though some were remakes had an excellent pitch, the beat to the newer fast tempo song will get you up and dancing

Kenny Lattimore latest offering is nothing short of brilliant in my opinion. He surely did accomplish his goal of recording covers that sound like brand new songs. If your ear isn't familiar with some of the tunes that he has on here then you are in for a treat. Out of all the covers that I've heard artist do, this is by far the best that I've heard from an established artist. He brings his own style to already classic songs and the music that accompanies him is excellent. I can listen to this cd and not feel as if he is covering someone else's tune. I have all of his music and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this is by far his best music.

I don't really care for his take on And I Love Her and Something (maybe it's the arrangements moreso than his vocals). I do like It Ain't No Use and That's The Way Love Is, but he works the stuffing out of Everybody Here Wants You, Come Down In Time, and Undeniably. The other songs are worthy as well. Ok, so worthy may not be a fair description - Kenny does his thing on Ain't No Way, Giving Up, and I Love You More Than Words Can Say. Aretha, Donny, and Otis are smiling.

This is a CD that new school adults can enjoy, if only for it's "getting your groove on" factor. Old heads, like me will applaud it for being music that we can actually listen to and understand and for the vocal quality. Older heads - I don't know. Go 'head on, Kenny - looking oh, so fabulous on the cover. Keep doing what you do!

I love this CD. It has an old school flavor and a few remakes but it is the bomb. Songs number 2 and 3 are now officially "my jams". Kenny Lattimore has done it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just truley lovely, September 11, 2008
This review is from: Timeless (Audio CD)
Kenny should not stop wearing that hat and his stride should be bumping because he has brought it back to the top with this new CD Timeless. He does a masterful job on the Norman Conners "You are my starship" and the Queen of souls "Ain't No Way", but the true KL fans are going to love "Everybody Hears Wants You". Add another star just for that one. Kenny brings his gospel background voice on the Donny Hathway Giving Up. Most CD's that are purchase today the artist has a guest singing with them. KL does not need one and even though I like Chante Moore and there 2 CD's he does not need her either. The upbeat "Thats the way love is and "And I love her" are Just Truley Lovely. The backgoung music sounds like a little gospel, a little jazzy, and a little R&B. This should be in everyon's collection. Great mood, conversation, and romantic music. Great job KL
