This is a rave!,

This is a rave review of Wayne's first recording as a leader, "Times Change". I have had the honor of playing with Wayne in my own band, the Nancie Banks Orchestra, and you can also hear him on my latest release, "Out of It" on GFI Records, Inc. You can hear it on his webpage, www.escofferymusic.com. Wayne is one of the most talented young players on the planet and will go far in his art. I look forward to hearing many more releases from him as a leader, as well as in my orchestra. In this world of young musicians who may have dazzling technique and chops, but nothing much to say with it, it is so refreshing to hear someone who plays from the heart and soul as Wayne does. In his solos you can hear the joy and pain and wisdom of stories from life itself - experience that goes far beyond the few years he has been with us on this planet. He is young but has an old soul. I am honored to know him. Please do yourself a big favor and add this delicious new release to your collection. (And one of mine too if you don't already have one :-) www.nanciebanks.com

A great tenor player with a classic jazz style,

I met Wayne when he was in the fifth grade and just starting out on the tenor saxophone. Right from day one, he was an unusually talented musician. It was a pleasure working with him for two years and watching him develop his skills. I had the opportunity to hear Wayne in New Haven a few years later and WOW, he sounded fantastic. It's great to hear on this album just how far he's come. Congratulations! (...)

Young Lion in a league of his own,

I had the privelege of hearing Wayne in an impromptu appearance at Wally's Cafe in Boston with the John Lamkin/Darren Barrett band. When he started playing, the crowd stopped talking and paid attention. That happens once in a blue moon at Wally's. I'm fairly confident that no one is playing tenor with his power, finesse, and confidence. No one. Buy this CD.
