5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the movie
Times of Trouble is at least as good as the two earlier Blackford books. Just like in the first two, the characters are great (and Jade, the superhuman girl from the future, is very cool), and there's lots of fast action, but it's also very realistic - not like the T3 movie.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terminator 2 Time of Trouble.
This book has no real story to it. I figured it would and it disappointed me greatly. Russell Blackford is a good author, but
here he slipped. The story goes to Jade's world and we see a Skynet that seems almost unbeatable. But it is defeated by a combined effort on the part of the main characters of the story
Jade, the Connor's, Anton etc.

There's all sorts of time- and space-travel across diferent time-lines, with John and his friends attacking the Skynets, and the Skynets have a heap of mean new tricks. The time-travel stuff is complicated, but interesting, and it's explained well.

These trilogy of books that I read crafted a story that I thought would be childlike in its pattern, or at least predictable. It was as if the author used an advanced physics idea, and instead of a linear path gave many options. You will have to read it to understand. I will ruin it if I go any further. This was an excellent sci-fi genre book. Well thought out. If you are a fan of the series and are looking forward to the new movie, this is a must. It will definitely fill you in on the new movie. It know they are going to draw from this book to help make the movie. I read all three in 4 days.

I have read the other books in this series and this one is the worst. The author wasted way too much time reiterating the fact that these characters have crossed time streams to an alternate reality; yeah, I got it. It's nothing new, but it was restated so much it was painful. It must have been all he could think of because the characters were so shallow and the story was so forced.
