With this unique 'timescape' perspective the author dislodges assumptions about environmental change, enables a rethinking of environmental problems and provides the potential for new strategies to deal with environmental hazards.

About the Author
Barbara Adam teaches at the Univeristy of Wales, Cardiff. She is author most recently of Timewatch: The social Analysis of Time (1995) and Time and Social Theory (1990).
