4.0 out of 5 stars Timex Bodylink Review, March 23, 2007
By
I've been using this Bodylink kit for about 15 days now and so far, it has served it's purpose. I was also able to run a 10k race with it and found it helpful in analyzing my performance in that race afterwards. I made use of the data gathered by the recorder in fine tuning my runs and training plan.

I must say that my new HR monitor++ gives me more reason to get up and run during those lazy days...it's been a source of motivation one way or another.

A few quirks that I would like to share to "would-be purchasers" of this product are:

1. The GPS unit is kinda heavy and it bobs up and down when you pick up the pace. Hanging it on your waist needs a bit of getting used to. If you're gonna use the velcro strap that comes with it, same thing, the strap is to narrow to keep the unit stable enough.

2. The software can be further improved by letting you zoom in and out of the line graph it displays. Also, if there are pre-arranged training packages that beginners can use, it would be of great help.

Other than those two, I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Over all, the Timex 5F011 Bodylink is an effective tool/ gadget that you can use in improving your runs/ training. It's also accurate in reading out your HR. I was able to compare this with another HRM watch that I bought for my brother--Polar RS100.

Thanks and happy running / training.

5.0 out of 5 stars I use it everyday!, January 8, 2007
This review is from: Timex 5F011 Bodylink Speed, Distance, Heart Rate, Bundled WITH with Data Recorder 2 (Watch)
My running and biking workouts now have reviewable data. This may not be important to some but for me it helps push to that next level.

I Like:

ease of use

long list of funtions

realibility of operation

I Don't Like

punching the mode button so many times to move between funtions

no battery low indicator on HR strap and GPS

needs a street map overlay

Get it, you will like it!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product !, November 30, 2008

This review is from: Timex 5F011 Bodylink Speed, Distance, Heart Rate, Bundled WITH with Data Recorder 2 (Watch)
I would recommend this product without any fear. It delivers what it promises. It's already helping me a lot, by alerting me whenever my pace slows down (I've set a sound alarm to keep me within the pace range that I've selected as my target). I use this product in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the GPS works fine by the way.

I only wish the watch itself could record the entire activity data directly from the HRM and the GPS, without the need of another gadget (the data recorder) to do this job. As it is now, we need this extra piece (the data recorder) to sync with the GPS and the HRM to record data from them. This data can then be transferred to the computer for a deeper analysis by the user. Maybe in a future release, who knows.

5.0 out of 5 stars BodyLink, January 15, 2007
The product is exactly as promised, in perfect condition, and works wonderfully. The data recorder is a great feature that really lets you track your workouts, check your routes, and monitor your progress. The online price was over $100 less expensive than the exact same item in the running stores. Great buy, Great product, Great experience!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bodylink 3D Speed, Distance, Heart Rate & Data Recorder, July 14, 2006
This review is from: Timex 5F011 Bodylink Speed, Distance, Heart Rate, Bundled WITH with Data Recorder 2 (Watch)
Works great. Produces nice graphs. If you forget to turn it off it also produces very high average personal best speeds when you get in your car.
