4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but large
PRO:

- Stylish design

- Very good sound from speakers

- Nature sounds are peaceful and very natural sounding

CON:

- Large on nightstand - bigger than the pictures imply (especially vertical dimension).

- Can not completely turn off the illuminated time display (you can dim somewhat but not off)

1.0 out of 5 stars aweful radio
This clock radio has a wheel to locate stations and the reception is horrible. Mine is going back directly to whence it came. It seems radios these days have worse and worse reception. Can you get a good radio anymore?

3.0 out of 5 stars Big and Bright, December 30, 2006
This review is from: Timex CD Clock Radio (Electronics)
I just bought this clock yesturday. The display is very bright in a dark room at night. I ended up putting a t-shirt over the display as it was lighting up the room too much, so then I couldn't see what the time was!. Also you can only see the time if you are looking level at it. I have the clock higher than the bed and cannot read the time from the lower level as the display fades out. However the speakers sound good and the nature sounds are very nice.

I am mostly using the CD and nature sounds and that works excellent. The only drawback I see is that it takes a lot of space.

2.0 out of 5 stars My Bad, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Timex CD Clock Radio (Electronics)
I can't act surprised about the fact that the clock is just a little too big and bright (read other reviews), but my biggest problem was the fact that the snooze button doesn't work. If all the features work, I'm sure this would be great, but can't do much with an alarm clock with no snooze. They were really nice though and have ordered me another which I will exchange. I'm hoping it works.

1.0 out of 5 stars ZERO stars, November 30, 2005
This review is from: Timex CD Clock Radio (Electronics)
I purchased this in July and the CD player quit working in November. The unit is too large. There is no way for the sleep mode to run at a different volume than the alarm mode. The "digital tuner" is run by a wheel instead of a button so it is no more precise than an analog tuner. What a waste of money.....

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful and unreliable, May 2, 2009
This review is from: Timex CD Clock Radio (Electronics)
Pros: Realistic nature sounds

Cons: Radio plays like mono instead of stereo
After barely one year, the CD player doesn't work, just spins around and around and says "no disc."
The clock is always 3-4 minutes fast.

Buyer beware.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this!, February 28, 2009

This review is from: Timex CD Clock Radio (Electronics)
The CD player stopped working ... it shows "no" on the display. Called Timex Audio, and they replaced it. But the replacement did the same thing after a couple of months. Called the company, no further warranty on it nor repair available. A waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars CD player didn't work, November 6, 2008

The CD player gave us problems out of the box. It often wouldn't recognize that a CD was in the machine. (We should have returned it, but I'd just had a baby so no time.) After a few months, the CD player stopped working entirely.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some Drawbacks, But Does The Job, April 8, 2008

Received this as a gift. I agree that it is overly large for your average nightstand and the display is incredibly bright, even on its dimmest setting. As with most clock radios sporting "nature sounds", these tend to be repetitive and distorted to the point that they don't sound "natural" at all. The exception are the wind chimes, which are actually very pleasant to wake up to. On the plus side, you have a variety of alarm modes (CD, radio, nature sounds), two separate alarms, sleep timer, and an aux input for an MP3 player, all of which have worked just fine for me. Bottom line: it does what I need it to do.
