Pros: Large numbers allow for easy reading from across the room, the "low battery" light is a nice feature, the snooze bar is very well lit, and the switches and dials are very well labeled in white for easy reading.

Cons: Energy consumption is a bit high (6 watts) and, when the LED display switch is set on "dim", the LED is way too bright (in comparison to a few other clock radios I own)

Summary: Good clock if you don't need it by your bedside, otherwise the brightness may keep you up at night.

Good quality radio reception/sound. My only reservation out of the box is that a number of other functions are push down like the snooze bar on the top.

I suspect this may lead to problems down the road.Worth a try at it's price point.

Alarm works exactly as advertised. The alarm sound is neither too loud nor too soft. It starts off low and gradually increases as described. Works perfectly for my husband. The large snooze button, along with the large display are the main reasons I purchased this for my husband. I like that I can turn around anywhere in the room and see the time due to the large display. And the pitch of the buzz alarm is fine with me as well. Can't comment too much on the radio as he hasn't and likely won't use it for this. When I first set it up, I tuned in some stations and it was fine - not the best quality but fine for casual listening or to wake to the radio.

Bought this clock and immediately had two problems. The LED's are too bright even on the lowest setting for the bedroom. I have to angle the face of clock away from me because it is so bright. Never had that problem with other clocks.

The second and most serious issue is with the LED readout of the time. The individual LED's that make up each number light up at very different intensities. Making it difficult, and sometimes impossible to tell the time. With parts of the number dim and some parts bright, you'll sometimes see numbers like 17:7L or 16:LL. And other character/numbers that my keyboard doesn't have.

Bad buy!!

Ergonomically, this is one of the better clock radios I've found. The buttons contrast with the background instead of the black on black invisible buttons found on most electronics these days, the digital display is EASY to read, and it doesn't take a huge footprint on my bedside table. Too bad Timex didn't put as much care into the internal workings of this product.

The LED is too bright, even in dim mode it's distractingly bright when you're trying to sleep. The radio reception is poor. The nicely contrasted buttons that I praised above are flimsy and unreliable. Out of the box, I couldn't disable the alarm, so it alarms even on weekends when I want to sleep in and it took several presses of the alarm on/off button to turn off the alarm once it went off. Now, after several months of use, the alarm on/off button doesn't do anything - to turn off the alarm, I have to press the radio on/off button twice.

The user interface is worthy of high marks, but the bottom line is that this product is not working as intended. I do not recommend this product.

The battery backup on this clock didn't work right out of the box. We even went out and bought fresh batteries just to be sure. The entire clock feels cheaply made for the price. Returning it and not requesting a replacement.

We were excited to receive our clock as we want an alarm clock with red LED's, but this one is definitely NOT the clock for us. The clock features an LED brightness adjustment, but even on the lowest setting the clock basks the room entire room in an eerie red glow. The other issue we have with the clock is that it does not keep accurate time for us - it advances approximately one minute every day. I've tried resetting the clock only to have it 5 minutes faster by week's end. A month later: 30 minutes fast. Definitely disappointed with this clock. I expected better.

This alarm clock is a very easy to use and practical product. works like announced. tHe only con is about the radio dialing mechanism... It could be a little more precise and softer.

As far as alarm clocks go, this one works just peachy, but it's feature set is pretty limited. There is only one alarm setting so if you and your sleeping partner need to get up at different times or if you need to get up at different times on different days, this is not your alarm clock. You can wake to AM/FM or buzzer, no external device connections. The display is large and easily viewable but as others have pointed out, it's bright even on the dim setting. I do like the battery backup. That works well. The style isn't particularly appealing to me. It looks like something you would find in a cheesy hotel room. I put it in my niece's bedroom for the weekends she comes to visit. She likes how bright it is. It's like a night light, but, ya know, she's 8 years old and is "too old" for a nightlight. I would probably look at other alarm clocks that offer some of the features that this one doesn't at this price point, but if you are looking for a bare bones alarm clock, this would meet your needs.

I finally found an alarm clock with gentle buzzer sound which won't give me a heart attack. The sound gradually become louder. Battery back up system is useful for me because we often get power outage. A Large time display is really helpful for astigmatism.

Only problem I have is the brightness of the display. There are 2 settings and I use the dimmer one, but it's still a bit too bright.
