I had another Timex for 6 years that ran perfectly. I recently lost it somewhere so purchased this one based on my satisfaction with the last one. I just got it today and am very impressed with its ease in programing the various functions. My only wish is that, since I'm over 40, the numbers were a bit larger like on my last Timex. Those over 40 will relate..

The ring on the half-leather half-textile strap of the watch fell the 4th day I wore it, without even getting wet!
Pros:
-it tells you time
-it shows you north
Cons:
-case too thick
-AM/PM mode(12h) mandatory, 24 hour mode absent
-cheap strap
-indiglo light button protrudes too much.
-edges of the dial gets dirty because it is recessed, hard to clean

So far this watch has been great. I don't have to squink to see the time. I have not used the compass feature yet but it looks straight forward.
