Good features, good-looking watch, but BAD worksmanship,
By A Customer
This review is from: Timex Expedition Travel, White Dial, Brown Leather/Blk. Poly. (Misc.)
I bought this watch about 4 years back from Service Merchandise. The alarm button fell off within three weeks! I've never worn this watch after that, since the outlet I bought it from told me the only way to repair it would be to ship it back to Timex, and I just didn't feel it worthwhile to incur the time and cost of packing and shipping it and then dealing with customer service; however, since everything else was working I've used it ever since as a little desk watch.

Timex's Expedition - Worth buying!,

This review is from: Timex Expedition Travel, White Dial, Brown Leather/Blk. Poly. (Misc.)
I was delighted to find this watch an analog masterpiece with magnificent looks! The dark brown leather strap adds to the aesthetic appeal of the light brown dial. The alarm mechanism is one of the most beautiful. One can set the alarm by turning the dial of the watch to the preferred time. There are two options to set alarms: hourly ring and 12 hour ring - truly wonderful by just turning the dial. This is why I called it an analog masterpiece. In today's digital era, this watch surely makes heads turn. Plus the Timex - Indiglo feature makes this watch a cool item and worth buying.

BEZEL FELL OFF,
By "bvilleboy" (Corpus Christi, Texas United States) - See all my reviews

After owning this only 6 months, the bezel fell off. I use it only for office wear. I use another watch for rough usage (ie. water sports, biking, etc). Up until the bezel fell off, I was very happy with it. I really like the indigo feature which allows me to see the time at night.

Easy to Read & Attractive,
By A Customer
This review is from: Timex Expedition Travel, White Dial, Brown Leather/Blk. Poly. (Misc.)
My husband and father each coincidentally have the same watch for the same reason - they can READ the time without their reading glasses. It's much easier to read than digital watches, and has the Indiglo light. The alarms are super easy to use and turn off. As the first reviewer remarked "analog masterpiece" - it truely is! And a beautiful watch at that!

Disappointed: nice features, but not sturdy,
This review is from: Timex Expedition Travel, White Dial, Brown Leather/Blk. Poly. (Misc.)
The easy-to-set alarm deserves high praise. Just turn the bezel (the rotating ring around the face) and easily set the alarm to go off within a one-hour or 12-hour timeframe. I wish other manufacturers offered something similar, because I've lost confidence in Timex quality. Within a year of owning the watch, the bezel fell off after a minor bump. I was able to snap it back on, but it no longer turned smoothly and the bezel began to fall off on a regular basis. Eventually it fell off without my noticing and was lost. Since others appear to have had the same experience, I cannot recommend the watch.

This watch falls apart - easily, and without hard use...,

You'll want to avoid this one -- it falls apart(bezel falls off, buttons easily exposed and catch on things in annoying ways)... there are better ways to spend your money than this. The design engineers were asleep at the wheel with this one !

Must've got a good one,
By A Customer

Just wanted to say that I've had this model for five years, and gone through three watch bands. The worksmanship has been fine for me (I've never even changed the battery). My only complaint is that the alarm function seems to be wearing out--I have to set the alarm to 6:34, instead of 6:30 due to the wear and tear over the years. It's waterproof and fairly scratch resisitant. I say take the other reviews with a grain of salt (mine too) and good luck.

Great features poor durability,

I bought this watch because it was analog and easy to set. I work an odd schedule so have diffuculty remembering the day. The date is awful small for us over 40 folks as well. I love the easy to set timer. Just spin the dial. No multiple buttons to push and no 26 language instruction sheet to wade thru. Unfortunately my dial fell off and I returned it to walmart and got a replacement. ON this watch the bezel has lost its color and the indiglo has lost its brightness so I cannot read the watch at night. As a professional firefighter EMT I need to see the time and second hand on the watch. Definitely want another but wish it was tougher.!

I really like this watch; because it's so easy to set the timer, it's really made a difference in my life. I can set a reminder for 6 minutes from now, when I'm grilling and need to flip something. I can set the timer for 20 minutes, when I need to go pick someone up. I can set an alarm to wake up from a catnap. It's really easy to set the timer and so I use it all the time; it frees up my rapidly depleting brain cells for other things.Except when it breaks. Like other reviews have mentioned, the buttons fall off (my first watch) and the bezel has fallen off and gotten lost (my second watch). I'm about to buy my 3rd; I feel kind of stupid; it'll be the third in 4 years. I wish the quality was higher, but honestly, I'm not sure (with my quickly fading memory :-) if I can function without it.

Expedition watch OK,
By A Customer
This review is from: Timex Expedition Travel, White Dial, Brown Leather/Blk. Poly. (Misc.)
I don't think the other reviews were for the Expedition as this watch appears to be quite solid. I like the ease in changing dates & the indiglo backlight is a real helper at night. Just the right size watch for a guy with small hands & wrists.
