5.0 out of 5 stars The Poor Man's G-Shock
Got this watch at Timex Outlet store with the all black reverse display for $20 and I couldn't be any more happier. First of all, the readability is outstanding, Day and Date included! Switch to two different time-zones at a touch of a button if you're the traveling type. A 24 Hour countdown with repeat (unlike basic G-Shocks which only has an hour) a 10 lap memory, An...

2.0 out of 5 stars Scratched lens
Realistically, a nice inexpensive watch. It has better dual time zone programmability features than my old Timex Expedition (model 77761). However, the lens on my watch had horizontal buff marks on it straight out of the box. The clear scuff guard was missing. Not a huge problem. The light scratches do not impair visibilty of the display. But, I would expect a new...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Poor Man's G-Shock, April 27, 2010
This review is from: Timex Men's Ironman Basic 10-Lap Digital Resin Strap Watch #T5K224 (Watch)
Got this watch at Timex Outlet store with the all black reverse display for $20 and I couldn't be any more happier. First of all, the readability is outstanding, Day and Date included! Switch to two different time-zones at a touch of a button if you're the traveling type. A 24 Hour countdown with repeat (unlike basic G-Shocks which only has an hour) a 10 lap memory, An alarm function that can be program to set either weekdays or weekends only, and its waterproof to 100m. Who really needs to go deep sea diving everyday?! I leave this on when I shower and swim and it keeps on going. The watch feels so light, that sometimes you forget you have it on. Why spend $80+ on a bulky G-Shock watch when you can be as tough and rugged on this fine watch. The thickness of the band feels just right, I know for sure this can be passed down to my unborn son since it feels so rugged. I know this watch doesn't exactly scream "I drive a Porsche" but it definitely says "I placed the money I saved on buying this watch on a Roth IRA and can enjoy my retirement because I have lived practical life" . You won't cry if you lose it either because its under $30! F anyone who judges you for being sensible

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, December 23, 2009

This review is from: Timex Men's Ironman Basic 10-Lap Digital Resin Strap Watch #T5K224 (Watch)
This watch is a simple, medium-sized timepiece that boasts the classic Ironman durability without all of the unncessary functions/modes. Best of all, the visibility of the daytime and Indiglo readouts are excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars simple design, many features, excellent product..., September 12, 2009

I purchased one in 3/2009 from Amazon for $28 and the battery died two years later so I ordered it once again from Amazon for lower price. Although the battery is sold for $5.00 dollars, dials will not work properly so you may forget about replacing the battery. I have been purchasing one every few years. I use only digital chronograph for mountain biking, surfing, running, etc. which needs to be simple, small and digital with all needed functions and this Timex certainly offers all without any further mambo jumbo. If not all but certainly most chronographs are bulky, heavy, big, with too many colours, with the start and stop dial on the side of the watch instead of the face of the watch which makes it difficult to use especially when I am mountain biking and I want to start or stop the chronograph continuously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch, great value, July 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Timex Men's Ironman Basic 10-Lap Digital Resin Strap Watch #T5K224 (Watch)
It takes little time to get to know all the functions and all; it's very intuitive.

The watch itself seems pretty sturdy. Its dark color matches with almost any attire. Looks fine, and functions well.

The functions available are: Chronograph with laps, timers, once/daily alarms, indiglo (light), optional 2nd time-zone, optional "beep" every time you press a button, and an optional chime for every real-time 1 hour that passes.

The chime feature has helped me keep track of time - sometimes, people don't know that time is passing by really fast.

Overall, I think this is a great watch for its value. I wouldn't mind buying these for my friends, etc. Two thumbs up, really!

If the Soviets had the means to make the perfect watch this is what they would have come up with. It appears to be no less durable than other Ironman watches which I own. It has all the same functions (one alarm instead of 3). What's missing? Pointless flair and design. The watch is all function over form, which in my opinion makes this watch much more attractive. Otherwise it is pretty much identical to all the other Ironman watches in build quality but way cheaper price wise.

The watch is great. It has all of the features I need and more. I highly recommend it to anyone with simple tastes. I especially like the "weekend" feature. I get up at 5:30 AM Monday-Friday using the alarm. When I set the "weekend" feature the alarm is silent at 5:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday.

I accidentally bought an Ironman watch about 10 years ago and found it is perfect for me. The time has two settings, which is great since I travel for work. The chronometer records my total running time or biking time or how long I'm waiting at the restaurant, etc. The timer beeps off half laps while I'm running so I stay on pace. The alarm is great at work; I set it for the next meeting or telcon so I won't forget.

4.0 out of 5 stars Timex Ironman - dual time zone, October 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Timex Men's Ironman Basic 10-Lap Digital Resin Strap Watch #T5K224 (Watch)
Bought this because it had a dual time zone feature, and wanted that for a trip to Europe - also wanted to leave my good watch home so as not to "stick out" as a magnet for gypsies. I had to take along a copy of the operating instructions, because the changes to time / zone are not intuitive, but hey, it works! For $25, how far wrong can you go.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Watch That Will Serve You Well For A Long Time., September 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Timex Men's Ironman Basic 10-Lap Digital Resin Strap Watch #T5K224 (Watch)
About 15 years ago was active in road racing. Had an Ironman watch back then. Great tool during training and racing to log laps, split times, etc. Had night light, alarm and other nice features. Served me well long after my competition days were over. A matter of fact, I still had it just about a few weeks ago. 15 years of bonding, me and my watch. Snow, rain, sweat, faucet water, the works. The watch earned it's Ironman tag. Did have to change the battery 2 or 3 times during that time which was very easy with the right tools. No longer running except occasionally for exercise, but I know a good workhorse when I see one. You won't be disappointed. Hope this helps. Be well.

After getting about 7-8 years from a Timex Ironman this one stopped working after 2 months. Too late to return to Amazon even though it is defective. The buttons don't work at all anymore which makes it useless. Poor quality control.
