5.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch!
I bought this watch a little less than a month ago and I think it is great. I'm not much of a watch wearer but I took up running last winter and wanted a watch that looked good and had a velcro strap + had good features. I think the Timex Ironman series is great and this watch is no exception. I've come to love the workout memory which stores your workouts and each lap...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I expected
The watch is not quite what I expected, but I'll keep it. The biggest complaint for me is that the Watch Information lists this watch as having a Buckle clasp. That is not the case, at least for the one I received. Mine came with a Velcro clasp, not the Buckle I was expecting. I also cannot get the Flix feature to work, even after reading the instructions 6 times...

I also cannot get the Flix feature to work, even after reading the instructions 6 times. This audio alarms and sounds on this watch are extremely quiet, I never hear my watch beep or the alarm go off that I have set. The watch does look nice, but not all it's claimed to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Watch!, April 4, 2007
I bought this watch a little less than a month ago and I think it is great. I'm not much of a watch wearer but I took up running last winter and wanted a watch that looked good and had a velcro strap + had good features. I think the Timex Ironman series is great and this watch is no exception. I've come to love the workout memory which stores your workouts and each lap from that workout by date. Honestly, besides the chronograph feature I don't use it for much else. The Flix feature is kind of corny but seems to work most of the time when i have played with it. I'm not even sure when this could be handy for someone but I'm guessing it is since they have it on a bunch of watches. The only thing I'm scared of is the fact that the band is not replacable if it breaks at any point. Once that goes I guess it will be time to buy a new Timex!

4.0 out of 5 stars the interval timer is of little value to me, October 15, 2009
This review is from: Timex Ironman Triathlon 100-Lap Resin Strap Watch #T5F591 (Sports)
I purchased this watch because I accidentally broke my older Timex ironman trying to change the battery in it. After discovering that this watch has an interval timer, I was really looking forward to trying out the interval timer since I do interval workouts. To my dismay, the interval timer is of no use to me. I do Tabata interval training which involves 8 intervals with 10 second rest breaks in betweeen each interval. There are not enough programmable intervals to cover this entire routine. Also, the alarm or "beep" at the end of each interval is too faint. I can barely hear it when it goes off. I would have to hold the watch up to my ear to hear it. So instead of using the interval function, I just use the regular timer (which has a nice alarm) when I do my Tabata workouts. Everything else about the watch is perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Watch for Me, May 19, 2008
By
I do long distance ocean sailing and need a watch that I can read clearly in all light conditions and with which I can change from interval timer to alarm clock in the dark; lifesaving practices in the ocean. I bought a Suunto Vector, very expensive, and it was terrible for my needs. I bought this inexpensive Timex and it has served me flawlessly for many thousands of miles in all weather conditions. Large numbers, bright screen, easy to learn to use and comfortable band. The yellow coloring makes it easy to find amongst other gear when not being worn.

First off, the price. Yellow was about half the price of the other colors. I didn't mind. The numbers are large and it has a great backlight for early in the morning when it's still dark. I even use the timer for when I proctor the ACT/SAT exams on weekends. It will store up to 100 runs. It has only five, easy to figure out buttons. The one that counts (splits, laps...) is on the face and larger than the others. The band is velcro and stays put on my skinny wrist. I can't think of a single negative except I don't think I'll be able to change the battery myself when and if the time comes. For the price, I should have bought two...

5.0 out of 5 stars my new watch, August 2, 2009

I love my ironman watch. I only use a fraction of its capabilities. My number one use is to check my heart rate when I am swimming laps. It came in handy today when a falling tree knocked out our power. It was dark in the house but I could check the time with the light.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sport Watch, July 13, 2009

This is a great sport watch: numbers are large and easy to see when running/swimming, etc.; buttons are easy to press; timers are easy to program. The Flix Technology is fun to play with but not really necessary. Only surprise was that "resin strap" means velcro, but it's actually sort of nice to have an easily adjustable strap without holes. Great watch overall.

I really liked the color so striking that it has many features that I am not sure I use them all. Good watch a good brand and low cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch with nice features/great price, June 26, 2009

This review is from: Timex Ironman Triathlon 100-Lap Resin Strap Watch #T5F591 (Sports)
This watch is everything I needed. Laps for my swimming and running, biking. Training for a triathlon, I am always trying to beat my personal best, and this lets me keep previous workouts to measure against. The numbers are big and easy to read, and the setup was easy to get acquainted with. The flix technology for a quick night time glance of time works well, and even appears to reset itself to OFF position after 12 hours. I read about the fixed strap that people are concerned with and think that my jeweler probably could replace it with one of my choice when the time comes. The strap won't last forever, but works quickly with velcro. I looked at hundreds of watches online and this one was just impossible to beat for the well known name, the features and the rock bottom price.
