two-prong-not three,
This review is from: Timex L12/880/0299PO4 Multiple Program Timer (Kitchen)
apears cheap, flimsy, but it works; alas for a two prong plug, not good if your 'things' are three prong...such an engineering error, what would the extra cost have been...

2 of 3 Failed to Function,

Well, I picked op three of these and put them in a couple days early. Of the three: One never advanced the clock, the second advanced and turned on the light, but then got stuck and never turned it off, and the third worked OK. It would have been nice if these worked since it is a simple design. Disappointed and still looking for a better version.

I have had a variety of timers over the years and most recently bought a digital timer that was expensive - and I never could get it to work - This Timex L12/880/0299P04 programable timer is SIMPLE and EASY to use and can be set up with 2 schedules for the day and/or night. Now when we leave home, we are confident that the lights will come on and go off when they are supposed to.

This product did what I wanted it to do. It turned lights off and on in my house on a twice daily schedule. The timer dial in terms of a.m. and p.m. was a little confusing at first but, hey, it could be me and I did figure it out.

Timer does turn lamp on/off when supposed to. But when you try to remove from tight outlet, it feels like the timer is about to pull apart in two pieces in your hand. Next time I am going for an Intermatic or something more solid.

I bought four digital Timex multiple program timers and after some months none of them work. I decided then to test this mechanical timer and so far is working nicely. It is big when compared with the digital model size. Another thing to consider is that in case of electrical break downs, the clock needs to be readjusted, which is easy to do.

I have a Bunn coffee maker which has a tank which it keeps hot. I use the timer to shut down the tank warmer (the whole coffee maker) while we're at work or asleep. I set it turn on before we wake up and before we get home from work.
It does the job!

bought two duds,

I picked up two of these. I planned to use them to turn on/off a TV and a lamp so I wasn't worried about the two-prong outlet. Well, both of them were duds. They never advanced the time. I listened very closely and could hear a faint mechanical sound but nothing like the loud noise another reviewer described. I wouldn't have minded the noise if they worked, but they do nothing.

This is a light duty timer which is why it does not have 3 prongs. It does what it says it does.
