If you are looking for a reasonably priced watch that won't embarrass you in public, you could do far worse than the Timex Men's Watch with the expandable band. I have been unintentionally eliciting snickers for my Casio with the liquid digits. I was looking for something smart that goes back to a classic look, so I ordered this one. The blue face dial is a nice look, and it lights easily in the dark.
One challenge with the Casio is trying to light up the watch in a darkened theater (during an obviously bad movie) without activating the rotation of feature resets. By the time I finished beeping through the features, I received such a case of small-mouth from fellow movie goers. No more. And the expandable band makes it a good, snug fit. It reminds me of the old Speidel twist-o-flex wristbands you could buy to spruce up your old watches in the 1960's, even down to the constant itch I got when I initially wore it. However, I have had the watch for two months now and am satisfied with the watch during normal wear-and-tear situations.

Keeps time good. Easy to adjust the band size (Sometimes is a little tedious though) It looks sharp without the high price tag. Even though it doesn't look like it, pretty rugged, at least from my experience with this particular Timex line. Very easy to read the #'s on the face.
Now the negatives. If you flip the watch over and look at the back cover it says "WR 30 M". Well I have had water get into several of these watches, it was a very small amount though, just enough to fog up the watch. So just be careful to make sure you take it off before washing dishes, or a shower. Secondly, changing the day and date is a pain in the rear to some degree. Once its set, no big deal. Basically, it would be nice if Time installed another knob on the watch. Right across from the current one. Dedicated specifically to the day and date.(This way it would look balanced?) Would I recommend it? Yeah I would. For the price you get yourself quite a decent good looking rugged watch. It's easy to avoid the water. And like I said, once you get the day and date set, no problems there either. Like all products it could be better. UPDATE 2-08-11 This wonderful wrist watch had survived a lot up until now from when I bought it, scuffs, scrapes, bangs. The face had even gotten bubbles in it where I was using it while welding and it was still going strong... But one thing it couldn't survive, me trying to change the battery. I somehow screwed my watch over and knocked loose the second hand, or a gear when installing a replacement battery. *Was trying to reinstall the back plate on the watch*.. I consider myself pretty competent, but I do make mistakes... anyways, not sure what I did exactly, but I did it very well. Long story short, its been a great watch and I'll be ordering another one. *sighs*

I had purchased a T20461 from Walmart for my uncle recently and I liked it so well, that I decided to buy the T20031 and T20471 for myself from Amazon. These are supposed to be the same watch with the same style expansion band; the only difference is the color of the metal and/or dial face. The fit of the T20461 was perfect for my wrist, and required no adjustment. However, the fit of the T20031 and T20471 was much tighter and not all that comfortable. I decided to count the links in the watches, and found that the T20461 from Walmart comes with 2 more links than the T20031 and T20471 from Amazon. It seems that the bean counters at Timex have figured they can shave a few pennies from the cost by reducing the number of links in their watch bands. I did notice that the packaging and plastic holder of the watch from Walmart is different than that from Amazon. Obviously, the watches are from different manufacturing batches. Whether the Amazon series is older or newer than the Walmart series is a mystery. However, I can vouch for the fact that the Amazon series being delivered at this time are shy two links in the band. So unless you have small, girly wrists, you might want to pass on this series of expansion wrist watches. Other than this issue, the T20031 is a pretty nice watch.

Great watch. I have banged it around, went swimming with it on, and have had no problems. This is one of the best watches I have ever had and the price cannot be complained about.

Best watch for the money,

Why is this the best watch for the money? - - Because I can see the numbers easy and it takes a beating real well. I am very hard on watches - I drop them, I submerge them in water, I bang them against things and this one takes it. This is the third or fourth one I have bought - the battery lasts two or three years and at about $30.00 it is better to just go buy a new one when the battery dies. Note that I did try replacing batteries in my old ones like this, but never was able to get them to seal up right - not even when the jeweler did it. Timex really puts them together tight. I also like the "indiglo" feature because I can see the time in the middle of the night. I have some expensive watches too (Seiko, Bulova, Rolex), but they will just sit in my drawer rather than pay $200 - $300 for routine cleaning and maintenance every 5 years or so. Also the watch band is a twist-o-flex type that is every bit as good as Speidel. I will just keep buying this watch when the battery goes out.

One of the best!,

I've had this watch for almost 2 years and it's been a great and dependable watch.
When I first saw it online, the watch looked huge. I purchased it anyway because I wanted a second Timex watch to wear for work. This is my other Timex watch (which I also love) Timex Women's Fashion Two-Tone Bracelet #T25771. I was so happy when it arrived! While it is much larger than most women's watches (it's advertised as a men's watch) it's a beautiful watch. I love the colors of this watch; blue face with the silver band. The large face makes it so easy for me to see what time it is. I'm a little sneaky sometimes... If I'm in a meeting or speaking with someone and I need to know what time it is, I can very easily, just *slightly* tilt my hand towards me and without moving my face or eyes too much, I can see what time it is on this watch! I don't want to be rude to whoever I am talking with, and this watch allows me to see what time it is with out being overly obvious that I am checking the time! I know, it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I appreciate being able to do that. I get so many compliments on my watch. I've been asked why I am wearing a men's watch and I tell them it's super comfortable to wear and I love the color and the features of the watch. Along with the time, the date is easy to read. Also if I'm in a dark room, the indiglo light works great. Because the watch face is blue, the indiglo light tends to glow a light blue color. Once I show them how awesome the watch is, they want one too and they ask me where I got it! One last thing, both the time and the date are so easy to set! Just takes a few moments to do. I love this watch! I've been very happy with all my Timex watches and they last and last...

Timex has a reasonably priced and functional timepiece in the #T20031 Watch. Features expansion bracelet, lighted face, and large enough watch face numerals to quickly see without difficulty. Also keeps excellant time, measured against my Automic Wall Clock.

After having a few links removed to fit (which is quite tough with this watch) I wear it almost every other day. The blue face is so clean looking and the entire watch itself doesn't look cheap. I have had watch collectors ask what it is and where I got it. When I tell them, "Timex...Amazon," they said "Ha, no really." Worth every penny!
