This watch has a deep black dial and a polished case.A great start.The numbers are large,silver and subdued which I prefer over in-your-face white"Expedition" types.The minute and hour hands are elegantly long and tapered and really stand out against the black dial,the photo doing it little justice.The day and date window is a decent size.As I have a small wrist {6.5} the classic 36mm case size which was the standard for men for decades is perfect.On their web-site Timex calls it an "Elevated Classic". I agree.

I have been looking for a classic/camper style watch for some time - the holy grail being one of the vintage WWII (and post-) Hamilton enlisted mens watches, down to this Timex. I was specifically looking for a watch with day/date, if it was going to be modern. That type of movement is inexpensive these days. I settled upon this watch as a test. It was inexpensive, and had a classic look. First impressions: It is small. If you have a big wrist or hands, be prepared for this watch to feel dainty. The silver numbering around the dial is quite nice, as is the twenty-four hour markers. The indiglo was a bonus. The strap is supple, but not wide at all. The devil is really in the details here. THe indiglo does not completely cover the face of the watch - there was a sixteenth of an inch at the top of the face that did not illuminate. The days were displayed askew, as they never quite lined up in the window. The second hand in not a sweep, and it's ticks did not line up with the printed dial. The quality of materials felt cheap. It's not a "bad" watch - it does it's job. However, it's not a great watch.

If I had about twice as much to spend, I'd select the "Timex Men's T2M453 T Series Perpetual Calendar Black Strap Watch". It has a sizeable case with a good thickness for big wrists, a perpetual calendar, and better build quality.

It's everything you want in a watch. It's a Timex, so it keeps time very well, and it looks great. Its look and construction belie its low price. Women may like this watch as much as men; my girlfriend "borrowed" it from me and I don't think I'm going to get it back. Maybe it looks a little too good? Recommended nonetheless!

I was apprehensive when I bought this watch because of some of the negative reviews left, but I'm glad I ended up buying it. I figured I'd respond to some of the issues here for others interested in purchasing this watch.

Size of face: I'm a woman, so it's actually almost chunky on my wrist. If you have a thicker wrist I would recommend paying careful attention to the measurements.

Band: The leather band is a little bit stiff. It softens up after some wear. And again, I have a very thin wrist, so it's almost too long for me. From the "largest" hole to the buckle it is 8.5" or 21.5 cm, so measure carefully.

Face: The light is really handy, though it doesn't illuminate a sliver at the top (barely noticeable) and the date, but the hands themselves glow in the dark on their own. The numbers ARE SILVER/CHROME, not white. I didn't mind, I actually like it that way. They are not overly shiny, and they match the rest of the watch.

Setup: It's a pain in the ass. You have to completely remove the crown to set the date (number) and to set the day (ie mon, tue, etc) you have to turn the crown however many hours until it gets there. Took me about five minutes of constant spinning to get it to the correct date. However, you can turn it backwards, so if you're on monday and it needs to be set to sunday you don't have to cycle through the whole week, you can just go back a day.

Battery: as for any watch, you should replace the battery as soon as you buy it. I didn't, and it's still running, but don't expect it to run for the full length.

Overall quality: This is a forty dollar watch. You get a 40 dollar watch. The look is very classic and elegant, but it's not going to turn heads. Great for people who want a nice looking, understated watch that functions well.

I think that this is a great watch.

Things I like:
1. Large numbers, clear face.
2. Date and day feature.
3. It has a very elegant look.

Things I don't like so much:
1. The backlight has gotten stuck on once or twice. Not a big deal, but annoying.
2. The watch band is showing minor signs of wear after a short time, also not a big deal.

Overall a great watch for a nice price. Strongly recommend.

Overall, I like this watch. It's basic, but it does have the indiglo feature and a day/date view. I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a basic dress watch that has style and function.

I sen it back because I thought it had white numerals and a satin or SS like finish
as based on the fotos. Turns out it was a shinney nickle plated case and gold numbers.
It certainly was a nice and well made product, but not what i was looking for or what
i interpreted from the foto.

The selection was outstanding. I was able to select the watch I wanted at a reasonable price. It arrived without delay. I especially like the back light that allows the watch to be read in the dark. The dial face is large with easy to read numbers.

Since all watches today keep accurate time, I wanted a basic watch that also displayed the date and day. This match nicely fits those criteria. I have a minor complaint about the stem (which is used to change the date/day). It is slightly difficult to use--not a major problem, but it's the one issue that is preventing me from giving this a 5-star rating.

I purchased this watch for my birthday recently, and was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it a very good value, it looks very nice and keeps excellent time. The leather strap was a little bit stiff and squeaky when I first got it, but after wearing it for a few days it loosened up. Very nice, good looking watch that a would recommend to all.
