Finding a clock radio with battery back up and radio presets was a challenge. Most of them have analog radios, which means when I flip from the baseball game (am radio) to jazz (fm radio) I have to once again slowly turn the dial until I find the spot with the best reception. It is a joy to use presets.

Mine worked fine out of the box. Radio quality (sound) was good, suitable for a bedroom. Surprise, surprise, it came with the batteries (2 AAA) already installed for the battery back up.

After losing the manual, I found it here http://www.timexaudio.com/help.asp where they have manuals for all their models.

The "Dual Alarm" allows a time for radio and a separate time for the buzzer.

Each suports: Every Day, M-F or Sat-Sun and the RADIO alarm lets you set the station to play when it comes on, which can be different than the station played for 90/60/30/15/ minutes with a different volume setting.

Turning the alarms on and off is easy (just press the Radio or Buzzer buttom - each time it turns on or off the alarm). Push and hold the radio or buzzer button to set the alarm time for the alarm in question (radio or buzzer).

Get a copy of the PDF file with instructions and save it on your hard disk for future reference when you lose the printed one like I did.

I wanted something with large numbers, dual alarms, and battery backup; saw this and it seemed to fit the bill. However, once you read the manual, it says that there ARE two alarms, but one is buzzer only and the other is radio only.

Back it goes.

I stumbled across this clock at a rummage sale. No manual and it was a breeze to figure out by instinct! I use it in the kitchen to set it to make sure I don't miss Car Talk on Saturdays, but can have the general radio set to another station! The digital tuning and presets are so nice. What a lucky find! Wish it I could find one with 7 different daily alarms...but...this is still great. Putting on my wish list for another one for a gift! Oh, the external antenna is a definite plus. I wont be purchasing any clock radio without one again.

I have two of these. I bought a second after letting my elderly mother have mine when she moved in with me and I missed mine too much! The sound quality is great, and you never have to adjust the time for any reason: power outages, daylight savings time - no matter what it always has the correct time. I highly recommend it.

We purchase this alarm clock to replace a older Timex, this one has dual alarms, that was a plus and it has a power saver set so if we loose power we still have alarms to wake by the radio is a very good system we are very pleased with this purchase.Thanks

We bought this alarm clock to replace our old GE that we had since the early eightys. The first thing you notice about this clock is how small it is,which is nice becuase it doesn't take up much space on the night stand. The numbers are easy to read and the amber back light has three brightness levels, we have found that the middle setting suits us. Don't worry about this clock being too bright at night, the lowest setting is pretty dim. The radio features digital tuning with presets, a big plus over our old GE. It also has an external antenae which you can position to recieve better reception. Sound is decent, but obviousley not as your prime listening source. The alarm is easy to set but here is my only gripe. This clock is a dual alarm clock, however one of the alarms will be the radio and the other will be the buzzer. I wish that both alarms could be the radio. At least the buzzer isn't that irritating, it sounds like a digital watch alarm. One other nice feature is the back up batterey (which is included), not all clocks have them. We are overall very pleased with the clock.

I have had this clock for over a year and it is generally a nice looking basic clock that has worked well over all. I would have given it more stars except for two issues. One, the display is not large enough to see early in the a.m. I guess if I didn't have the clock on the dresser near the foot of my bed, it might not be such an issue. Also, since my bed is lower than my dresser, I look up at the clock and the angle really fuzzes out the numbers. I won't be buying another clock with such a small display area again, though. The second and biggest issue is they made the daylight savings function automatic and not changeable. Even if you are in a non-daylight savings area, you are stuck with the daylight savings feature. Now that they changed daylight savings on us, I am stuck with a radio that will need to be adjusted 4 times a year. I think this is unbelievably cheesy. Also, I am not sure what product the other reviewer was talking about when referring to a "cd player". This one has a radio.

Very straightforward to use with most controls on front, good sound quality for a small device, nice form factor for bedside table space conservation

This is a wonderful product that every bedrrom should have. The clock sets itself and has AA battery packs for power backup.
