Great product. Indestructable clamshell close, lightweight, and small for travel, a new battery lasts for a year or two, loud alarm, big numbers and nighttime visibility, snooze seems to keep working no matter how many times you hit it, am and fm work fine. I've bought 6 of these in the past, given most of them away to guests who used them and really liked them, and logged on again today to buy a few more. I've bought dozens of different small travel alarm clocks over the past 30 years (which I also use for my main home alarm clock--I don't like switching when I travel), and this is by far the best ever. I'm buying more so that I don't ever run out--I worry they'll quit making it someday. Never have known any of them to miss an alarm, in spite of that other review to the contrary.

alarm works incorrectly,

We woke up late two days in a row because of this alarm clock. In disbelief, the third day we woke up early and stared at the alarm clock as it breezed through the set alarm-time without making a sound, or registering that it had missed the alarm time.To add insult to injury, the clock misses alarms only when we set the alarm for intervals longer than an hour. A two-minute to one-hour alarm test works fine. When we set it for longer intervals, it won't ring. All indicators appear to be correct (bell sign if using the radio, z sign if using the buzzer, pm indicator where appropriate). It just doesn't ring. The radio works fine, the clock works fine, the night light works fine. But what's the point, if the alarm won't work? This item goes back to the store.

I bought this as a travel clock radio. However, when you go to bed at night you cannot have the radio on if you wish to set the alarm! It has one sliding switch which operates both the radio and alarm. While the radio works okay for such a small item and the alarm seems dependable, it is not that useful if you cannot use both together.

Nice little alarm. Tinny sound from the radio but can't expect much from such a small speaker. Light to see time is handy, bright enough to use as a small flashlight. Times for alarm and time are easy to set. Up to now I am satisfied.

I'm going to keep this short. This alarm clock loses about a hour in a week. You'd be better off with a sundial. If you would really like one of these, don't buy it from Amazon - look in the dumpster behind my office.

Not wanting to drain my iPhone batteries when out of town and needing an alarm to wake me the next morning, I thought this travel alarm could be a handy alternative.Nope. Not sure what they were thinking when they designed this, but you can't use the radio and the alarm at the same time, which is the pits if you like to fall asleep listening to music. And worse, the alarm is not reliable. I've had several instances now where it doesn't go off at the appointed time. Yes, I checked to make sure I was setting AM instead of PM, but to no avail. It's not rocket science you know, and I have managed more complicated things (like raising teenage boys), yet this alludes me. I'm going to write it off as a manufacturing flaw, and not my inability to conquer a little box with an LED display. This is not Timex's finest hour. Pun intended.

Had to return this clock. Put in batteries and it worked for about 2 seconds and went off. I was surprised because I have never before had a problem with a Timex product. Must have just been a lemon.

I really like this clock - not enough to earn the coveted 5 star rating, but enough to give it 4/5 stars (it's too plasticy - and the plastic has too much regrind in it to keep it servicable for many years). I loaded mine with 2 ea of the AAA lithium cells Energizer Ultimate L92BP-4 Lithium AAA Battery 4 Pack so that it would run for a LONG time, and it has.The radio is surprisingly good at pulling in distant stations, however it lacks any sort of output jack to make better sound quality and uses a simple transistor radio style tuner - those went out in 1975 along with the boombox, but if you need an fm radio quick it will do thhe job. The lcd display is quite large once it pops up and the button can be used to light it with a yellow LED, making it great for dark nights. The clock/radio is quite thin and can be set to buzz, activate the radio, or do nothing when the alarm strikes. Things I like - radio sensitivity on am and fm Things I don't like - no ability to do 24 hour time (eg 4PM is 1600 hours) - it shows up in the display as 4p:15 for 4:15 in the afternoon. Overall it's more than what I'd expect for the price, and the night light/snooze button makes it readable if I wake up at night.

surprisingly good little radio and clock,

The radio obviously has no low end, but is crisp, clear, and loud. Pulls in many stations, sharply, on AM and FM, and tuning doesn't backlash on you. Slips into a shirt pocket. The open-lid/reset-radio/snooze/LED light button is really clever. Very easy to set. This is a great rig for waking to news or music on travel. I notice some others had trouble. This one's OK. I'd say..give it a good testing right away when you get it. If it works you will be pleased going forward.
