4.0 out of 5 stars YOU'LL LOVE THIS CLOCK!
From its retro good looks, to the astounding number of multiple functions for the price, this clock beats more expensive clocks with fewer options hands down! 2.0 out of 5 stars Cute only goes so far
When I first got this clock in December, I thought it was great. Great price for a nice little clock -- and easy to operate if you are willing to refer to the directions. But 5 months later, the alarm and time setting functions have completely stopped working. In December I would have given it 5 stars. But now, I think 2 stars is pretty generous.

4.0 out of 5 stars YOU'LL LOVE THIS CLOCK!, October 15, 2002
This review is from: Timex T318S Easy to Read Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
From its retro good looks, to the astounding number of multiple functions for the price, this clock beats more expensive clocks with fewer options hands down! As a fan of analog clock faces that must be visible at night, the three level brightness feature is a blessing. Initially put off by reviews that called it complicated to program, I found the instruction booklet more than adequate to master the programming functions. The everyday, weekday and weekend alarm selections are phenomenal. No point in waking up on the weekends at your regular weekday time! This lil' clock is a keeper! At this price, buy several for your friends -- they'll enjoy falling asleep to the ocean sounds, and waking up GRADUALLY to the ever increasing volume of the sweet chimes. The radio works perfectly too! Digital display can be set to days of the week, so as not to confuse the eye with double clocks. Fantastic buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars The killer alarm clock, September 24, 2002

This alarm clock has a brilliant feature that should have been standard years ago: the ability to set or disable different timed alarms for weekdays or weekends. The "fall asleep" ocean/woods sounds are just a bit too repeptious, but the gradually louder chamber-bells-wake-up sound is the best I've ever heard. The buttons are not that intuitive at first, but after a couple days I didn't find it harder than any other digital alarm clock. The lighted digital display and analog face can be set to low or bright light, and battery back-up allows me to sleep without the fear and worry of not being woken in time. I would definitely make this purchase again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Retro Look Combines with Ease of Use to make a Great Clock!, June 27, 2002
This review is from: Timex T318S Easy to Read Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
I've only had it for a week, but I LOVE my new clock. I love its retro styling, which fits in wonderfully with the decor of our bedroom, and I love the fact that it combines an analog and digital clock into one.

Easy to learn to use, easy to get going, etc. Great alarm, which grows louder the longer you wait to turn it off, etc. The only drawback I found was that it took me until last night to figure out how to get the clock's internal light to turn down so it didn't blind me in the night.

Forget the naysayers, enjoy this clock!

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Dynamo, July 23, 2002

As usual, Amazon had what I was looking for. I am visually inpaired and the light in this clock is a blessing. I sleep to the ocean, which has a separate volume control so you can sleep and blast yourself out of bed in the morning, which is what it takes for me!!
It is a compact good looking radio and Timex has some of the best features. Thanx Amazon for carrying such a wide variety of products.
Devoted Shopper,
Sarah

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than you might think, May 1, 2004
This review is from: Timex T318S Easy to Read Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
After reading the reviews here I immediately thought after purchasing this model that I would have a problem with the analog clock not working.

Well, I plugged it in (I purchased it used) and the analog clock didn't work. It helps to read the directions. The analog clock specifically runs on a battery. I wonder how many "failed" clocks were simply due to either a dead battery or no battery at all? Out of all the things that could go wrong electronically, it seems that this feature would be the _last_ because it's such a simple thing for them to make.

Another criticism of this model is the noise. What noise? My analog clock makes none - and I'm actually disappointed! As for the alarms, you have a volume control.

About the only criticism I have is that the radio quality is not nearly as good as the T309 model. I tested that one in the store and the audio quality is excellent for the price you pay.

No other big problems other than that. It's a cool looking model and it has a lot of features for the price. As for the sound quality of the radio, if you're looking for an alarm clock this will be fine. If you want something that you actually listen to (other than talk radio) you'll probably want a different model.

I got this clock about a year or two ago and I love it. It works great. One thing I like the most about it is the ease with setting the wake up time. It has a forward and revese on it. My dad also has the very same clock. :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Analog clock stopped working, August 29, 2003

It worked great for about a month, then the analog clock stopped working.
I love the design though and the alarm was very nice. It started out soft and got progressively louder until you woke.

I'm pretty sure mine was just a fluke, but who knows.

When I bought this clock I loved it, the clocks lite-up, with adjustable brightness, the alarms (I chose bells) were great, I loved the fade-up alarm feature. But first the face clock stopped then the light went out, then the snooze feature works intermittently (my wife loves this when it goes of ten minutes after I've left the building). Now the alarm just doesn't work dependably enough to use it at all. I was just looking for a new alarm clock when I saw this and decided to write a review. I may have just got a lemon. My last alarm clock lasted for almost eight years, so I don't think I abuse my alarms.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Timex T318S Easy to Read Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
I bought this because I like analog clocks, and this was the only clock radio I could find with an analog clock. That part is nice, but the sound quality for music is very poor, very tinny. It's fairly good for talk radio, but not for music. It has some nice features, if you don't mind futzing around with learning the controls on yet another electronic device.
