After calibrating the compass twice, it still seems only vaguely accurate and continues to have consistency problems. Good thing we didn't plan on relying on the compass too much; however, it was the main feature that led me to purchase this watch, so I am disappointed it doesn't work that well. Also, although the listing of specs claims the dial color is grey and does look that color in the picture, it actually turned out to be a dark olive green, which just happens to be a color my boyfriend mildly dislikes. Would not have bought if I'd known about these things.

The watch is great. Better than I expected but the only hitch is the compass is not working right but it could be user error...

Watch works well but light button sticks up beyond the face level and gets caught on clothing or surfaces when you stick your hand in.

I researched a watch with a compass, which was the main reason for buying this watch. The LCD is difficult to read when not viewing straight-on. Given the advances in screens, this was disappointing. The wrist band is exactly what I wanted, but be aware it doesn't adjust down small enough to fit snug on an 11 year old. You can wear it, but it will be loose. In many cases, a light weight watch is good, but I expected a more solid feel, closer to my G-Shock watch, but the light weight made it feel like light weight quality.

Calibrated Compass easily and so far seems to be quite accurate. Not sure why Timex uses different circuitry for timers/chronometer in the expedition series compared to the ironman series. Only downfall to this that I've noticed is no Countdown repeat option on this watch. Also annoying is there is no way to keep the compass active, you can only view it for a few seconds at a time.

This watch was everything a good watch should be, water resistant to a reasonable depth, which I have tested with several showers and a dip in the pool everthing still works like it did right out of the package. So for water hardiness A+.

The watch has a velcro cloth strap that adjusts to the perfect band length every time, another nice thing about the cloth strap is that it runs under the watches metal back; which means no sweaty wrist whooo!!! Strap seems to be made well although I had to tame a loose stitch with a lighter not a big deal.

Have noticed the occasional glance when checking the time so the watch, for it's modest looks, can still attract attention.

The picture used when I purchased the watch shows the color of the watch to perfection it is a forresty kind of green kind of like an army helmet maybe a shade darker.

The Weight of the watch is not a big issue as it is hardly felt on my wrist and after a few minutes have forgotten that I was wearing it, and have gone to sleep with it. The weight is good for running which I have done with it and does well although I don't know how to use the split time thing but I dont care too much about that.

Nice watch but the time digits are too small for a person who needs to wear reading glasses to discern. The green LCD background compounds the viewing - NO CONTRAST! Timex has larger LCD time digits that work for me. Also I am a Velcro wrist band advocate ... easy on and easy off for us older guys!! PS- I am 67 years old.

I had this type of Timex digital compass watch previously and it's hard to believe but the original battery lasted 9 years before it quit. By that time the watch had seen better days because of scratches on the besel and so forth. This was my everyday watch and took a lot of abuse. So I wanted to replace it rather than just put in a new battery. If this one lasts as long as the last, I'll be very pleased. It does everything I was looking for, is easy to use and the price was right.
