Recently purchased the Timex T49772 Casual Diver Watch and couldn't be more pleased. Stylish and durable, with great hands-to-background contrast. I can't read much without my glasses, but hands and numbers are easily read without them, both in bright and dim light. The indiglo backlight works great in dark conditions. All this at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the product.

It really does look just as great as the picture would make you think, maybe even a little bit better. Tough, waterproof... really fills the bill.

I bought this watch as a gift for my husband. He is very hard on watches. He has a couple of fine jewelry watches, but needed one for everyday use. I wanted a simple good looking watch and that is exactly what I got. My husband is 6'4" and needs a larger watch face which this is. It also has a wonderful clasp on the rubber strap that keeps the extra strap securely in place. It is a heavier watch so he knows it is on his wrist. It also has a working bezel and a nightime feature. You can't beat it for the price. I would HIGHLY recommend this watch if you are looking for a sturdy good looking watch.

When I initially received this watch, I was happy- I like the styling, it is easy to read, has large button for the backlight, and the strap seems decent enough. However, I never got this watch below 15 feet while snorkeling, yet somehow moisture made it's way inside the case and permanently fogged up the glass. Also, the dial to set the time pulls out too easily, and several times I found that the hands had been turned without my knowledge. The biggest problem is the return policy on this item expired before I got back from vacation. The Timex 1 year warranty will hopefully cover this, but the problem is that I can't trust this product enough to take it on a dive vacation without being certain it will function correctly, and the warranty only guarantees repair or replacement, not refund. As an additional note- and I know I'm not the only one that feels this way- Timex quality has really suffered over the last decade or more. Timex watches used to be a great value in my opinion, reliably producing quality watches under $100. I do not believe this to be the case anymore, which is too bad- I travel to many places where a nice shiny watch can be a liability, and it was nice to have something that would work well, look good, but not be a big deal if it were stolen or destroyed on an adventure. Not exactly a disposable watch, but something I wouldn't really feel attached to. I will be searching for a new brand to fill this role. Again, this is not a reliable product for it's intended purpose.

I had received this dive watch in praise of my achievements from an institute of higher education. The watch is exquisite, however I was irresolute on whether or not to keep the timepiece. For one, it is only rated to a depth of 100 meters. I frequently and leisurely free dive to depths well beyond the range of 100 meters, typically to wrestle with giant squid. Subsequently, the wristwatch is only shock resistant. The utilization of a watch only capable of being resistant to shocks is not well suited to my rugged way of life; a time keeping instrument must be shock 'proof' to find its way onto my wrist. In addition, the watch I received displayed a yellow face, largely indicative of cowardice. I for one am no coward, hence my mention of battling giant squid. And lastly, but most importantly, I only wear Rolex timepieces. Good day.
