Get the most out of your workout with the Timex Speed and Distance Ironman Triathlon digital sports watch, which includes a GPS transceiver that calculates speed and distance data. This unique watch and GPS system is designed to measure current, average and maximum speeds and workout distances for a wide range of athletic applications--from running and biking to skiing/snowboarding and rowing. The portable GPS transceiver receives signals from up to 12 satellites, converts the signals to GPS data, and then transmits the data to the watch via proprietary digital FM signals. It also automatically synchronizes time of day with GMT ensuring accuracy. The transceiver can be worn on the upper arm or snapped into a waist holder.

This Speed and Distance system will track your speed (real-time, average, and maximum), pace (real-time, average, and best), and overall distance. Sport timing features include a 100-lap memory chronograph, lap and split times, countdown timer, and memory recall. It also offers 12/24-hour displays, separate daily/weekday/weekend alarms, and a 5-minute alarm backup.

This T53501 model features a hardened black resin case with a silver bezel accented by red lettering and a black resin strap with silver ring highlights. The Indiglo night-light's Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the backlight for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet) and the GPS sensor is splash resistant.

Now I know exactly how far I've walked and how fast. I now know that the park signposts aren't completely accurate.

Sometimes I lose the signal against a hill or under trees.

Also the distances might not be accurate going up a hill with alot of switchbacks.

I do like the speed distance aspect of the watch. But unlike other training watches you can't store old workouts in it and the lap feature does not tell you how fast each lap was until you are done. Needs some work.
