I recently bought a Timex OVA (optimal viewing angle) watch. I bought it as a replacement for my old Nike Triax watch, which inexplicably stop functioning correctly. After comparing several different watches, including the new Nike Triax watch, I was impressed at the lightweight of the OVA; I can't even tell when it's on my wrist. Also the OVA comes in large- and mid-size versions, which is very important for many runners like myself that have thin wrists. The viewing angle makes looking at your watch slightly easier while running versus the conventional angle. Furthermore, the placement of the buttons is the best on any watch I have ever owned or tried; the start/lap button is literally fool proof and very easy to find without having to look down! The indiglo night feature works the same as many new sport watches, by lighting the numbers rather than the screen, which works very well at night. The memory feature gives lap times, total time, best time, average lap time and also the date at which the time was recorded, which makes recording training information very easy. Finally this watch not only performs fantastic... but it looks awesome with a ton of different color options.

I bought this watch because of interval timers - it works perfectly and once you get the hang of setting up in the first place, changing the times is easy. Extremely happy with the product and the price and the service

The ergonomics are very good, the material selection/design of the strap is poor. I had the watch for just about 8 months and the strap has broken just before the clasp. Apparently just taking the watch off and on once a day puts too much stress on it. Because the strap is molded into the watch case it can't be replaced - you have to get a new watch.

Great watch from a feature function standpoint and actually loved how it fit on my wrist but cannot recommend the watch. The band has a very short life span (about 1/5 the life span of your first battery) and eventually gets stiff, britle, then breaks. Since the band is molded into the watch housing it cannot be replaced and the entire watch is rendered unwearable. So I now have a fully functional Timex O.V.A. watch that cannot be worn or fixed and now sits in a bowl by my bedside keeping perfect time for no one.

What a great watch. I use it for swimming, it has a 75 lap timer. It is one of the few watches that can count enough laps for you to swim 3K.

Horseback riding! The OVA is perfect to time the horses workouts. The angle on your wrist makes it visible without adjusting your hand hold on the reins.


Running, it has BIG numerals. Even old guys can read it while running.

The only drawback is the band. My first watch lasted 3 years, 5 day a week workouts, before the band gave out. The watch was still working but the band gave out.

Timex, for $10, took the watch back, and sent me a brand new one. I have two now.

Like the watch so much and the "viewing angle" that I bought a second one after the first one purchased band broke. Bands only last a year.

I bought this watch for my 9yr old son - He absolutely loves the watch. He never took it off since he got it!!! the band of the watch is ideal it does not get in the way the band strap is perfect - it has a tuck under feature to keep the band in place. My son loves the fact that it has 3 alarm 1. wake him up for school, 2. to remind the teacher dismal from school, 3. when home work is going over the time before his after-school sports to begin. The timer and stop watch lap mode motivate my son to work out daily to beat his best time - he told me to get a watch like his so we can both bike ride together.

I highly highly recommend parents to purchase this watch for their children.

I've been "watching" this watch for a couple of years - wanting it, but frightened away by the MSRP. My first thought was that it would be the perfect timepiece for riding motorcycle. It DOES work better than a conventional watch, but is also angled so that it is more visible with my hands on a steering wheel too!

I spend some time on stage singing Gospel music and I have noticed that it works perfectly for checking time when holding a microphone. There are 5 or 6 watches on top of my dresser, but since this was delivered, it's the only one that I want to wear!

I was relieved that the watch was exactly what I had ordered and that it arrived on time.
