Timex is Slipping,
This review is from: Timex Men's T5K3429J Ironman Shock 30-Lap Watch (Watch)
I have been using the Timex Ironman watches for well over 20 years. About every 5 years or so, I break down and get a new one. In the past, these have been the standard of performance. I spent over 10 years in the Army, and have absolutely destroyed these watches, and I can attest to the claim to fame, "It takes a licking, but keeps on ticking". Unfortunately, I believe their quality control has eroded. Last year, I purchased a new Timex Ironman Triathlon, and after 6 months, somehow moisture got in. This watch was not abused in any fashion. I sent it back to Timex, and after 2 months of emails and phone calls, they sent me a new one. This one lasted less than 2 months before moisture got in it.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Timex Men's T5K3429J Ironman Shock 30-Lap Watch (Watch)
I ordered this watch through Amazon.com because I was in the market for a new watch after my trusty Ironman Triathlon broke the pin mount for its strap. I looked at several dozen timex watches and settled on this one for it's appearance and features. When I received it, I really liked the looks of it, and it seemed comfortable. Unfortunately, after just a few minutes I realized I would have a problem with the watch. This problem is the fact that it is very tall off the top of my wrist. It stuck out way too far and interfered with my long sleeves and coat pockets. It annoyed me enough that I had to return it. This was too bad, because I liked the watch otherwise.
If you don't mind a slightly bulky watch, then this would be a great watch for you. For my wrists, it was just too tall. I ended up ordering an 11mm watch instead of this one, which is 14mm. It's amazing what difference 3mm makes. |
