4.0 out of 5 stars great watch for everyday use
It's rather hard to find a well fitting watch for my relatively small wrist. This watch hits the mark perfectly. Soft resin strap is quite comfortable. Buttons are very easy to push (compared to some other watches for which you need to use a nail). Operation is also easy. I never needed to read the manual. 2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I'm a bit puzzled by the overall positive reviews on this chrono. Two poor design issues - 1. The top info (Date/Day) or in Chrono (split time) are hard to see and partly hidden. 2. The chrono split and Stop/Start buttons are very small so...if you running (or whatever) you really have to concentrate to hit them. Not ideal. Also, the watch is not all that 'bright'...

I love this watch! It's utterly indestructible. I especially like the band that is integrated into the watch face, giving it a soft-bracelet quality that is exceptionally comfortable. The watch is also the thinnest I've seen in an action watch. You don't realize you're wearing it, so you can focus on your workout. Timex made this watch in orange and blue too (I own both). Based on my research, only black remains (or at least black is the easiest to find). Timex rules!

I really like this watch. The display really shows the time well. It is easy to use. I didn't have to refer to the manual at all. It has pretty simple yet decent looks and all of this at one of the cheaper price you will find.

Just what was expected. It has the perfect set of features. This is my third Triathlon. Each of the first two lasted so long I couldn't remember how many years I had been wearing them. The second one is still working, but I've beaten it up so badly over the years the writing is all worn off and the crystal is badly scratched. The new one has a sleek look and shouldn't catch protruding buttons on things like my old one did occasionally. You go Timex!

5.0 out of 5 stars TimexIronmanTriathlonResinWatch,62951, January 9, 2007

This is the best Timex Ironman watch I've ever had - out of four. Its very light, perdorms excellently, and has no significant protrusions which my last Timex had, and which incidently bumped into a wooden protrusion and was no longer to remain on my wrist.

So, yes this current Timex is great; on that level. As far as the operation, well every Timex Ironman I ever had was great on performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome watch, band keeper only weakness, August 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Timex Men's T62951 Marathon Triathlon 8-Lap Watch (Watch)
Love the watch. Thin and small but doesn't look like I'm wearing a little girls watch. I have had it for about 4 years. I am very active and am not the easiest on watches. I just polished off the 2nd replacement band. The little band keeper seems to be the weakest link and ends up breaking after about 18 months or so and I have to buy a replacement band for about $12. It hasn't really been a problem because I wear it everywhere and the band starts to look a little haggard after that long anyway. All of the lettering has worn off except what is under the crystal. The crystal is a bit dull due to wear and scratches but it still totally readable. You can just tell it isn't new. I would give the watch 10 stars if I could. It is a hell of a good watch which has cost me an average of less than 1$/month to own. I don't know what more you could expect. I may have to buy plump for another one simply because I can't find a replacement band. Can't expect a $27 watch to last forever but so far it hasn't given up.

Purchased thru Amazon.com with great results, fast delivery with free standard shipping. Watch arrived in brand new condition. Easy setup as it is a simple watch, no frills. Screen visibility is good. Watch is light and comfortable. Watch band seems to be of better quality for an under $30 watch. Crystal took some time to scratch but I work on aircraft so it was inevitable. My only complaint is that the buttons located below the screen is a big button but is stiff to press. This button is for starting/stopping the chronograph timer and lap function. Overall great inexpensive watch.

PERFECT WATCH: takes a ticking and keeps on ticking. my old one, very old, is still running but have gone thru many bands and the crystal is scratched bad. All functions still work and still keeps perfect time.

from the look of watches in the stores, including timex, i felt that this style is on its way out and wanted to get a fresh one before this happens.

NOTE: when the band wears out get the fabric ones with velcro. they work real good!
