These watches with the stretch band are GREAT for kids! They are so easy to slip on and off my kids actually wear them every day! My older son even wears his to bed so he can tell what time it is in the middle of the night. They are comfortable, easy and affordable!

Wonderful watch that I purchased after I couldn't find last timex kids watch. Bright colors and I'm assuming the quality will be as good as the last one which we've had for over 2 years. The band is stretchy and stands up to dirt, grime, soccer, etc. This new one has a nice glow in the dark face which my son loves!

I absolutely LOVE this watch. I really like that my 4 year old can now slip the watch on and off as he pleases without any frustration that comes with typical watches. The band is adjustable so it will fit his little wrist perfectly now and will grow with him. He loves how the little animals move with the seconds and the indiglo feature is a plus also. This is a really nice kids watch for the price. Shipping speed was excellent...came a day early.

This is the second one I've bought. I lost the first one. I buy them for myself (I'm an adult!) because I like the convenience and comfort of the elastic band. Kids seem to be fascinated with it.

I bought this watch for my son, who is almost 6. I liked the fabric band, as opposed to the plastic ones we saw on a lot of watches, as I figured it would be more comfortable. He was learning to tell time in kindergarten and I wanted to get him a watch. It is easy to read, and the face lights up (which he was VERY excited about.) My only complaint is that it is too easy to take on and off, which resulted in him taking it off in school and losing it for a few days. Luckily it showed up, but I think the elastic band is tempting to play with, especially if you child has a lot of restless energy like mine.

I actually bought this for myself: I'm a female with fairly small wrists, and I just needed a cheap watch to wear on runs, to the gym, and during other activities where I don't want to wear my nice watches, so the Timex Kids' line seemed like a fun and inexpensive option. The main thing that led me to write a review is the fact that this watch is still working 100% perfectly and looking good as new DESPITE being left in my pocket and being subjected to a complete washing machine cycle! If it can handle that, I'm pretty sure it's water resistant and sturdy enough for most of the mishaps that it could encounter on a kids' wrist (although I don't necessarily know how it would do with deeper submersion like with swimming). It's certainly served me well. The funny lizard pattern and bright colors lead to a surprising number of compliments from adults, too - it's a cute design! And, of course, it has kept time beautifully, at least for the six months or so that I've owned it. (The only not-so-great thing I've noticed - it ticks pretty loudly. But it's not really noticeable unless I'm in a rather quiet room or have my wrist right next to my ear.)

This is an adorable watch that I bought for myself (an adult). It's great, waterproof, cute styling, love the nightime illumination. For the people who are dissing this watch ... I mean, seriously? It cost $16 bucks, gimme a break! It is well worth the measly amount of cash shelled out for it's purchase!

I bought this for my two year old boy because he kept telling me he was the only one in the family without a watch. Well, he loves this little watch and so does his sister, who tries to snag it from him. The seconds hand is actually the lizard. It's fun for them to watch. It works well in every other regard too.

We bought another Timex Kids watch for my son when he turned 5 - the one with the black velcro strap. He loved it - and lost it - and when he replaced it, he picked the Gecko watch. I actually like it better. The stretch band means he can easily take it on and off. It is incredibly durable, and it's easy to learn to tell time with the detailed time ticks along the minutes. He also loves that it has a glow light for night. That was 2 years ago - thankfully he hasn't lost it, and it's still a great watch. He likes how it's not too "kid" oriented and is still cool to wear.We just picked out another Timex Kids watch for his brother, who is now nearly 5. He likes to borrow his brother's watch and can already tell the hour and 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 of the hour. You cannot buy a better kids watch, and what a great way to teach children how to tell time. |
