It's a great watch for running, better than the Nike running watch that I got as a gift. The Timex has more functions than the Nike, for example, its interval timer tells you which repeat you're on, cumulatively. You can't go wrong with this. I've had it for 3.5 years now, 2 marathons, 3 half marathons, countless 5 & 10Ks later...still "ticking"!

So I started running again and wanted to get a good but inexpensive running watch. After doing some research, I chose the Timex Women's Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch. This was a great purchase. The watch is comfortable. The band helps prevent excessive sweating on the wrist. The numbers are large and easy to read when running a race or just during training.

I have owned 2 of these watches... I bought the second one hoping that the first one I owned was just a dud. This watch is great at first. I love the colors and the sleek design of it. However, after a few months of wear, the band pulls away from the actual watch part. The second one I purchased did the same thing. I even tried super gluing it back together. I was so dissapointed because I really really wanted to love this watch :( Unfortunately, don't waste your money on this watch until they change the design.

I've had my watch for about a month and I love it so far. It did great in deep waters a few weeks ago while I was free diving in the Bahamas. The only downfall is you're not suppose to push any buttons under the water. The color of the watch is a pastel purple/blue. It has a lot of features in which I haven't tried yet but overall it's a great watch for a great price! :-) Good luck

Just a note - I purchased this using my husband's account, so that's why my review doesn't say "Amazon Verified Purchase."

I bought this watch in August 2011. A common complaint about Timex seems to be that the band falls apart quickly and can't be replaced. I have no doubt that it has happened to other people but I'm still using the same watch I bought in '11. I haven't had to replace the battery yet.

In the last several months or so the band has started to pull away from the watch face, and I can pull the watch face off the band completely, but so far it's not bad enough that it just falls off the band by itself. I wear it a lot, but I've avoided getting it wet, so I can't speak to its waterproof-ness. The grey paint on the start/split button has come off a little, I think that happened fairly quickly, like the first several months?, but it's just cosmetic, nothing I'm going to return the watch over.

I got this watch specifically for its interval function. You set interval 1 and interval 2 and you can have it stop at the end of the second interval or have it repeat indefinitely. I do a run/walk, so I use it for that. It'd also be good for timed speedwork, like run for 1 minute, recover for 2. It also has 3 alarms, which I rarely use, and the chrono function, which you can use to time your entire run, with splits.

All in all it's a good watch for runners if you don't need gps (I use mapmyrun to figure out distance/pace).

Very light and easy to use. I haven't open the instructions yet. The colors on the buttons fade quickly tough.

Initially, I really liked this watch. It's comfortable, does everything I need, and worked well in the pool. But . . . after a few months, one of the plastic pads on the main function button fell off, leaving the metal pin underneath exposed, but still working.
After a few more months, all 4 pads fell off, leaving 4 exposed pins that would catch on everything and gave me a few nasty scratches. When the battery died, I took the watch to a watch shop to have the battery replaced. Since I swim, I wanted a knowledgeable person to replace the battery to keep the watch waterproof. Well, after the seal was broken, all the functions stopped working, audible alarms, stopwatch, timer, and light. Only the time still functioned. Then I took a trip to a river with my family. Even though I wasn't submerged, just playing in the water, the face developed condensation and the next day everything died. The watch is inexpensive, but I sure expect it to last longer than the life of the battery.

I've had numerous Ironman watches and I think they are great. I use all the features, time, chrono, timer, alarms and they are easy to set and use.

Seems like a good watch. All the right features and easy to use. Two problems. First was moisture under the glass after a swim merely 4 months since purchasing. The other problem is minor, but the gloss on the purple finish is starting to chip away and make it look a little rough around the edges. It does have a warranty, but you have to pay for shipping there and include $7 for return shipping.

I've worn Timex Ironman watches for the past 13 years. This was the first time I switched to the Sleek version, and so far (4.5 months later), I'm still pretty happy with this watch.
The sleek styling is more attractive for everyday wear than the original Ironman, but still maintains the functionality. The face is a bit small for reading numbers while running, and I don't use it for serious training (I use a Garmin Forerunner 305), but for a casual run concerned with elapsed time, this is more than adequate. I wear it with most outfits, except for business attire or evening wear.
The grap and purple color is feminine but subdued, and I've received several compliments on it.
I like that just the numbers light up when using the Indiglo, meaning that it is much more discreet if you are in a darkened auditorium or theater and need to check the time. It does not glow like a small flashlight.
The paint is starting to chip off the face, but not very much. The paint on the buttons is about halfway gone.
