5.0 out of 5 stars Good Buy
I love this watch. I bought the green one. It's a great watch. You can set mutiple alarm times so it's great for a person who needs constant reminders. It works great when I time myself swimming laps or sprinting. Also a great fit. I definately recommend this product for those looking a sporty but stylish watch

This is in sharp contrast to my old Timex Ironman watch (with the standard black display on a light background) which was easily readible under a variety of light conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, Light, and Full of Functions, January 22, 2007

This review is from: Timex Women's T5F771 Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch (Watch)
I bought this watch to replace my old Timex Ironman. I needed a watch that have multiple countdowns, as well as multiple counters, and alarms. if you do interval training, you will find that the multiple countdowns feature is essantial.
The watch is very cute and very light. Even though I cannot handle having a watch on my wriste while typing, this watch is so light that it does not bother me at all.
I was thinking about buying a Suunto, but for the money the Timex has more desirable features.

1.0 out of 5 stars Green leaked twice!, September 6, 2006

Hmm, sorry there isn't a No Star option.

I've purchased this watch in green twice and both times it leaked-that is water appeared under the watch face. First time thought it was a fluke. Second time makes me very mad.

I did snorkel with the watch but did not exceed the depth rating. Second watch just showered with it to produce leak.

This is unacceptable for a sports watch.

I have the same model but in blue and its still working, just worn and now grey.

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointed in this watch, August 28, 2007
This review is from: Timex Women's T5F771 Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50/100 Watch (Watch)
I have had two timex ironman watches - I gave one away and lost the other. I replaced it with this one - price was good and it looked nice. Howver, when i'm running, unless the sun is directly on the face, i cannot see it. And - when running and using the intervals, I cannot hear the tones idicating the end of the interval. So - totally useless for these purposes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Screen Hard to Read, November 6, 2006

This is the second Ironman triathlon sleek watch I've owned. I decided to purchase this one based on my overall satisfaction with my first watch (the band finally broke after several years). Since the blue watch proved to get pretty dirty I decided that the green body and black face appeared pretty cool on-line. In reality it's hard to see the white numbers on the black background unless you tilt your wrist in an ideal way. Basically there is no way to "sneak" a peak at the time. In addition, both watches have let water into the screen occasionally (1-2 times during the life of the watch) which creates a "cloud" that usually subsides after a day or two.

I really like this watch-- it has a lot of nice features including three different alarms that you can set for different periods (Daily, Weekdays, etc.) and it's perfect for running because you can easily time yourself with the "Chrono" function. What's also nice is that you can push one button to switch back from the regular time screen and the different functions. This watch might actually have more functions than I actually need, but it's a good value and seems pretty reliable thus far.

5.0 out of 5 stars great running watch that also looks good, February 19, 2007

I had this watch in blue for a few years. I use it so much for running that it was looking really dirty, so I just got this one in green for my birthday. I really like all the functions and really like how it looks. I get a lot of compliments.

I read the couple of complaints about the watch not being easy to read and was a little nervous until it arrived today. I find the face very clear. No. It's not quite the contrast on the background like in the photo, but I opened the box in a regularly lit room with no sunlight and could see the face at all angles. I wonder if this varies with different people since we all have different eyes! In any case, I love the color and the fit. I actually had the pink version of this but one of my sons apparently put it somewhere VERY special! I decided on a new color in case the other one shows back up! I highly recommend this watch. It is easy to use, looks cute and can be worn anywhere!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good buy, August 31, 2006

Love the colors, very sleek, lightweight and comfortable to wear. Has a lot of extra features for the very serious athlete(lap/mile timing, etc), easy to use and program. I will agree with a previous review that the black background does look cool, but is very difficult to read the display unless you are in bright sunlight...but for timing runs (which is all I use it for it), it's great and would definitely recommend for someone looking for a "fashionable and functional" sports watch.
